The hedgehog waved as she left, smiling rather warmly at the spot she'd been a few seconds after she was already gone. Then he found himself, glancing back at Nik and shrugging. "Suit yourself. We do still need to figure out what we're going to do with you though..."

Nik didn't reply. Instead, he simply fantasized the worst possible outcomes of what Rob had just said. And shuddered.

"You're welcome to take shelter here for as long as you like, but on the matter of getting you home... That's going to be difficult if you're not even sure how you got here in the first place..." He pondered over that for a moment, thinking of the boy's reaction to the sun and his general attitude about it. "... Do you perhaps live underground?"

"... Yeah?"

The hedgehog pondered on that, subconsciously cupping his chin into his palm. "Well, I suppose that explains where your lack of knowledge on current events comes from... Hmm... You had to have popped up from a burrow or a cave somewhere..." He paused then, glancing out through a nearby window. Though Meadowood always had a shady appearance due to its nature as a treeborne village, he could tell it was starting to get late. "Well, it's a bit past any time to be looking into that now, so, it looks as though you'll be spending the night here..." he stood up, stretching, grimacing and rubbing at the sore lump on his head as the rushing blood caused it's pounding to become stronger. He glanced at the bed Nik was on and frowned. "On that note, I'm terribly sorry about the accommodations... We're not used to people as tall as you are... Hmm." He glanced around the room, eyes falling onto a chest in the corner. "Ah ha," he said, grabbing it and beginning to pull it toward the bed.

Of course, the reason that Nik had been perched on the edge of the bed was to avoid being close to the oh so terrifying beast. So, when Rob drew closer, it was only natural that Nik backed away farther. There was a problem in that however in that he was already as far back as the space on the bed allowed. Meaning... he fell off the edge. While still holding that pitcher of water. A moment of scrambling later and he was standing at the other side of the room looking rather fidgety and quite soaked. "... I meant to do that."

"Aye, I'm sure you did," Rob said flatly, shaking his head and smiling morbidly. He finished moving the chest in front of the foot of the bed and then grabbed a few spare blankets out from it, setting them on top to act as a cushion for the human's legs. "There, that should give you at least some extra comfort..." That done, he stepped back, eying Nik with a look of exhaustion. "By the way, I find that behavior very hurtful, just so you know... I'm not sure what I can do to prove to you I'm no threat," he shook his head. "Well, unless you need anything, I'll be leaving you alone for the night."

And for a moment, Nik actually did feel a twinge of guilt, and the thought hit him that perhaps he was wrong in his judgments. However, that thought quickly passed, and instead he just gave a small nod in Rob's direction followed by a rather small "thanks".
