It was a silent procession that made it's way through the large egg-shaped fortress at the center of Robotropolis. ...Well, okay, technically it wasn't silent. Metallic feet made a lot of noise on the floor, and the steel walls tended to have an echoing effect. BUT NOBODY WAS TALKING SO YEAH. The group of SWATbots weren't very good conversationists, apparently. They did their jobs decently enough though particularly with these spiffy new dice, and this was one of those rare occasions where Robotnik wouldn't necessarily be enraged at their incompetence once they give their report to him. For lo, they had prisoners in tow! Not just any prisoners either. Very Important Prisoners. The SWATs didn't know why they were important, but they tended not to question such things in the first place. They just followed orders. The group of robots ushered their prizes into the Command Room for the fortress and then split up; several of them remained guarding the prisoners while others went to do the same for every entrance and exit. None of them said a word as they all waited for Robotnik's inevitable arrival.

And fortunately, they didn't have to wait too long for the evil dictator. When he arrived, he didn't so much glance toward them until he'd arrived at his beloved main control room chair, sweeping his cape out of the way as he sat (to involve any unfortunate rips that, most likely, would occur if he'd sat on it with his enormous fat ass bulk). Thusly comfortably seated, he nodded and made a small gesture towards the two prisoners- one, technically, one of his own soldiers. "Explain, then." With Robotnik's arrival, a small rooster like robot suddenly flew down and perched onto the chair, making a few noises that sounded like the synthesized rumble of marbles clinking and rolling against each other. It twisted it's head around in a bird like fashion once perched, looking at the two newcomers first with one eye, then the other. After a few moments of that, it was apparently content with what it saw, sitting back like a roosting bird and giving a cold, hollow, and yet somehow content " pik".

"You must be Julian," Ishnt said, looking at the dictator. "This isn't exactly a warm welcome, but I might be willing to forgive you if we come to some agreeable terms here. So, let's get to it. I was sent by the honorable Dr. Eggman, given name Ivo Robotnik, from an alternate universe. The doctor is the ruler of an empire of his own, the Eggman Empire, and he sent me to discuss an alliance." He glared at Metal. "This whelp of yours tried to betray our agreement and leave me behind, but I followed him here. Not the best first impression, but I'm under orders to negotiate with you."

The hedgehog metallix just scoffed as Ishnt spoke, folding his arms and placing his nose in the air as he waited for Robotnik to address him.

Robotnik paid no heed to the mechanical hedgehog. He'd get to him when he got to him. But right at the moment, there were more interesting things to take care of. "Ah, yes. I've been wondering about this... other version of myself I've been hearing about! ... and I do hope you'll forgive the cold welcome you've mentioned, but you must understand that as of late we've had quite a good deal of destructive visitors. I hadn't wished to take any chances..." Including, but not limited to, a certain Metal Sonic..."...What sorts of negotiations are being considered?"

"Actually, he gave me a letter to give to you..." Pulling a piece of paper from his jacket, he presented it to Robotnik. The paper had text overlaying an image of Dr. Eggman himself. ...which then began speaking, relating the words which were printed on the paper. "Greetings, Julian Robotnik! My name is Dr. Ivo Robotnik, but I'd prefer you call me Dr. Eggman. I've heard about you from your Metal Sonic unit. It's an amusing coincidence, but I created a Metal Sonic myself! Let me cut to the chase. I think both of our operations could benefit from an alliance. I do have some troubles with your civil affairs policies, but I'm sure we could come to some agreement in negotiations. It may sound impudent of me to presume to tell you how to run your planet. However, I think that you'll find my conditions not too difficult to realize. And I'm not sure you'd like the results if you failed to comply... Let's say you'd be missing out on a golden opportunity. I look forward to our negotiations! I'm sure you are a reasonable man. Send word back to me soon." The message ended with Eggman's signature.

Metal arched his brow at the... talking paper... and idly wondered if it was going to explode now.

"This message has been brought to you by the Eggman Empire, which is not responsible for its content. Except for this part." AND THEN THERE WAS A NUCLEAR EXPLOSION THAT COULD BE SEEN FROM SPACE.

Well, that certainly sounded reasonable. He wasn't quite sure on the talking paper, but... whatever. "Is that all then?"

As if in answer, the middle of the three main monitors flickered on showing the image of a panicked looking (as much panicked looking as a SWATbot could be) SWATbot. In the background, there was what sounded like gunfire and explosions. "Lord Robotnik! Sector Gamma 5 is under attack from an unknown robotic unit! Suffering heavy losses, requesting back up units to conta-*SQUAWK* At that moment the camera angle jerked violently as it looked like the SWATbot was lifted into the air violently, and a voice familiar to Ish at least shouted. "WORTHLESS CONSUMER MODEL! OBLITERATE!" Then the camera jerked again as the SWATbot was thrown, spinning end over end and giving a briefest glimpse of its attacker, before there was aloud BANG and the picture went to static.

Ishnt winced as he heard Omega's voice, the expression on his face soon turning into one of anger. "Oh, this is just wonderful," he growled. The android then addressed Robotnik. "It's a renegade Eggman unit who turned on my master some time ago. By your leave... I'd like the opportunity to smash this intruder."

Robotnik frowned and rubbed one of his temples at the report. Yet another intruder making a mess of things. Thankfully, the problem was apparently going to be taken care of without him having to actually bother with it. He frowned in annoyance and nodded toward Ishnt, muttering. "Yes, I'd be grateful if you did, thank you." And while that was being taken care of, he could take the opportunity to speak with Metal alone...

Metal had glanced at the monitor, tilting his head to one side at the transmission and then glanced over when Ishnt had requested to combat him, "Hmph," he muttered and waited for the android to leave, looking up at Robotnik with a quizzically (though unamused) arched brow. He remained quiet in wait for the tyrant to specifically address him. The last thing he wanted was to agitate whatever wrath was already going to be thrown at him for speaking out of place, despite the overwhelming urge he had to express his displeasure at being treated like an intruder.

And so, Ishnt ran off, following the sounds of destruction to where the rogue E-series unit would undoubtably be.

Robotnik raised his own brow and turned slightly to the screen displaying Omega, all whilst continuing to rub his temple. He didn't have much doubt that the two would probably make an even bigger mess of things, but as long as he didn't have to directly deal with it... With his free hand, he flicked a small switch on his chair, and the entire 'throne' slowly swiveled so that he now had a full view of the large computer screens that made up the wall, though turning his back to Metal Sonic (though, he wasn't particularly worried about that). A few more button clicks and the displays on the computers changed- most of them now scrolling and showing data of the recent portal activity. He kept the window with Omega open, however. He did want to see what happened next, even if he didn't care to be directly involved in it. That taken care of, his attention turned back to Metal, though his chair did not. "Report, then."

Metal had to restrain himself from immediately blurting out the question he had. He paused for a second to contemplate what to say, then noticed the data the tyrant was currently focusing on. "So you are aware of the portal activity already. That will save me time. While on patrol I stumbled into one of them and found myself in the base of that Eggman person. He attempted to capture me and then threatened to hold me hostage against you," he scoffed. "I convinced him to let me go however. That human, by the way, is an android." He paused and let that hang in the air a moment. And now for the pressing question. "If I may be so bold, sir, why the hostile greeting?"

Instead of verbally answering, Robotnik instead clicked another button on the control board, bringing up security footage...

Metal blinked as the footage of his shinier counterpart played, showing him as he broke into the lab and snatched an odd android dog right out from under his master's nose. He stared. "... And you mistook me for him."

He he not had so much pride in himself the robot might have cringed upon his realization of failed opportunities. "Regrettably little. Besides this double of mine it would appear Eggman has another hedgehog modeled metallix. Named Silver Sonic. There was also a metallix whom closely resembled the guardian of Little Planet." In remembering the echidna robot, he went silent again for a moment, curling his hands together into tight fists and fighting against the urge to allow his eyes to light. He continued on. "I also learned of a military organization known as GUN. The ship I had seen appeared coercive enough, but the human android informed me that their track record is less than impressive."

"Hm. Well, if things go according to plan, it won't matter much. If you take anymore... unexpected trips it would be wise for you gather more information, however." He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. At least the prisoners would at least make up for Metal's lack of information... if they talked, that is. But with time, everyone talked...
