"Hmm," Fini said in response to Tails' reaction. He then turned away, " I'm going to try contacting my Legionnaires now."

Tails held a respectable silence for the pangolin, as he didn't want to interrupt if it was something important.

((Other character stuff mostly by their respective players *snerk* Though I did add some minor details here and there for better flow.)) <Isis, Julie?> Finitevus' transmitted over the Dark Legion's network. Only he would be able to hear what was going on. <Are either of you receiving this? Respond!> There was a sound like someone smacking their communicator. <... eheheh.> There was a bit of a static hiss as another voice carried over the network. <I hear ya, doc, but I'm a little busy trying not to DIE at the moment.> Another voice came through, foreign to Isis and Fini, although slightly garbled due to the volume it was yelling at. <JU-IE! WHE-- AR- YOU!?> Another foreign voice quickly followed it, shrieking loudly in the background. <HEY! PUT HIM DOWN YOU CREEP!> There was a long pause for the other end. <... Who was that?> < o-ow...> <Isis responding.> <This is the one, best shot I have at finding her! And if you try to take that chance away... I WILL KILL YOU.> <Dash... RUN!> Followed by an ear-splitting screech. <GEEZ, WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!> "... GYAAAH!" Finitevus suddenly shouted in response to the screech, which would most likely would have confused Tails very much. Though the screech technically didn't hurt, the magnitude of it it had jarred his entire system. To top it off, the pangolin physically jolted and stumbled a step back. It took him several moments before he could regain his composure, and when he finally did his eyes began to glow furiously. <WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHO THESE EXTRA PEOPLE ARE?!>

Tails recoiled at Finitevus' spontaneous action, rather scared of the doctor for yelling so loudly. Tails noticed his eyes seemed to glow brighter than before, and knowing Metal Sonic, it probably meant that Fini was angry. Really angry. So Tails kept a moderate distance from the doctor, waiting for a sign that Fini had calmed down. It made Tails wonder just what exactly was going on.

Like some kind of unholy robotic children of the corn, all of the workerbots in the room frozen, then turned to peer at Finitevus with cold, unfeeling digital eyes. Maintaining their unison, the robians of various species each clicked onto their communication network and pelted Robotnik with a barrage of alerts about the pangolin's outburst.

And the alerts brought a now familiar face back to the flickering monitor. "What's going on here?"

Finitevus winced at the sound of that voice. <Excuse me.> And then, spinning around to face the monitor, "What do you want now?!"

STERN FACE. "To know what I've just asked."

One of the pangolin's eyes seemed to... flicker. "HOW SHOULD I KNOW?!"

MORE STERN FACE. Maybe Finitevus hadn't heard. "I asked what is going on here."

"I heard you quite clearly the first time. And I asked HOW SHOULD I KNOW?"

"Because you're in this room and I just received several alerts ABOUT you. What are you doing?"

Finitevus' eyes began to glow even brighter and he began to shiver and chuckle. "What am I doing? What am I doing?!" the intensity of his laughter continued to progress, "What am I, Doctor Finitevus, one of the world's most powerful men POSSIBLY doing?!" His laughter continued to escalate until he finally clutched at his head and let out an ear-splitting shriek.

Yeah. CUE BACKING UP AGAINST A WALL NOW. "I dunno about you Fatman, but I think maybe whatever you did to us is giving him a mental breakdown. I just about had one earlier." Tails offered, looking at Fini as one would look at a rabid lion. He hoped that whatever DID happen to Fini wouldn't happen to him.

"... I honestly thought you had more mettle then that, Dr. Finitevus. Oh well, I suppose we're all wrong about one thing or another." That said, he turned his attention to the fox. "I see you've sent in what I've requested- production will proceed immediately. However, you..." and he nodded in Finitevus's direction, "and you... may help the other worker bots repair the damage you've caused. Once the both of you are done, report back to me." And gone.

The moment the tyrant's mug vanished, Finitevus abruptly fell silent and he stared at the screen, smirking to himself with satisfaction. Glancing over at Tails he grinned and began to laugh again, but if one were to pay close attention they would notice a subtle change in its tone... this was no psychotic cackle, oh no... In fact, quite the contrary. Finitevus was rather amused. He then headed to take care of the task he'd been ordered to preform. Oh, he could have easily exploited another loophole by the way Robotnik had worded his command, but... why mess around when he now had a new advantage? Even if that advantage had come at the price of his dignity. Note to self: he thought idly, Kill Dash.

Despite the change in tone, Tails still clung to the safety of the wall, and continued to eye Finitevus with a distrustful eye.

Fini's laughter eventually died out as he surveyed over the damage and took to figuring out what he could do that would require the least amount of effort. He glanced over at the fox still plastered against the wall, noticing the looks he was being given, and smiled pleasantly. "Well, aren't you going to come help?" Meanwhile, he turned his focus back to his com-link. <Dashiel, come in.> he waited several seconds for an answer and then frowned inwardly. Dash didn't respond, and neither could he hear any of the noise around him any longer. <Dashiel?> he waited again, then repressed the urge to sigh. <Isis, Julie, report to me as soon as you're in safe positions.>

Tails continued to scrutinize him, but reluctantly aided in the task of fixing whatever needed to be fixed. Meaning that he had no choice, but didn't particularly want to be near Fini at the time. <... You're saying that this is all an act? You're not really crazy?> Tails asked eventually.

Finitevus grinned widely, rather pleased at how convincing it seemed he had been. "Oh come now, Tails, you know I prefer the term psychotic. It has such a more deliciously depraved sounding ring to it."

Tails frowned back. <And unfortunately, your fanciful facade has a rather negative strike upon my psyche.> he said, mocking the doctor, who used alliteration with big words.

A shrug. " I would have given you warning, but I didn't have much of one myself. Besides," he smirked slightly, " I may have just won us an advantage."

Another shrug and continued smiling as he worked. " If Robotnik is lead to believe he's broken me, then obviously this means he's underestimating me, doesn't it?"

Tails blinked. Fini made a very good point. But then again, he WAS talking with a scientist. <So you mean... we now have the option of blind-siding him?> Tails asked slowly, wanting Fini to confirm the sudden excitement that surged through his chest at the thought.

Rather than answer the kit directly, Finitevus merely chuckled and continued to smile. <This is Isis, I'm currently inside some sort of maintenance bay accompanied by that familliar Black arms experiment, 27. Inari has since lost control of the robot we found and it has run off. I am attempting to re--> Sounds of electrical sparking. <I am attempting to restore mobility to my cybernetic limb.> <Julie reporting. I'm not sure where I am, but, I seem to have an ally at the moment. My arm's still dead too, but I don't have any means currently to repair it.> His smile quickly melted into a frown. <Inari has done what with that robot?> he paused for a moment to sigh. <Isis, are you still in the same building we were taken to earlier? If so, I want you to remain there until Julie can home in on your com tracer, assuming they're still working. Understand?>

After a rather lengthy bout of thinking, Tails suddenly spoke up. Or rather, gave Fini a message. <I think it would be best for everyone if we can somehow get a message to the powerhouses in our world, so we can warn them and give them at least a little bit of time to prepare for anything this guy throws at us.> he said, formulating his thoughts and then spitting them out as he came across newer ideas. <The tricky part is HOW. Sending a note though a random portal won't work, since we won't know where it'll end up, or if anyone we know will get to it. The only plausible way seems to be via the portal I'm making, but that leaves little time in the way of getting them to respond. And then there's the fact of getting these notes to everyone possible in an incredibly fast amount of time.> There was another pause as Tails figured out numbers. As far as he knew, the ones that needed to be alerted were GUN, Sonic, the Kingdom of Sol, and possibly Eggman. Fini most likely already alerted his group. But even so, searching those groups out would take too long. <... I don't think even Sonic could alert everyone fast enough. Multiple people would need to be sent, and even then, unless they had homing signals, I really doubt they'll make it anyway.> A longer pause, as Tails thought out the dilemma. <Can you contact Chuck? The more people in on this, I think we'll have more of a chance of surviving.>

Already annoyed and becoming more and more furious with what he was hearing from his comrades, the pangolin turned toward the fox and pressed a finger to his lips in a 'shh' gesture. And then, finally, he seemed to realize something. He'd been missing his glasses the entire time. Now when did that happen? Ah yes, probably during that figh-- Shaking off the distraction, Finitevus stopped what he was doing to move closer to the fox and whispered. " ... Tails, I was whispering earlier for a reason. I don't think it's wise we continue speaking to each other through transmission."

The fox blinked. He was sure they had been speaking through a transmission almost the entire time. "Actually... I don't remember you whispering very much." Tails whispered back, looking admonished from the silent "SHH!" Fini had given him.
