"Well, mostly, I wanted to get out... my friends Honey and Scorra left, too. There were also some.. differences... I guess you could say, that there was between me and the others... but, well, I wanted to play a more active part in saving the world. Being cooped up for so long underground, too..." He blinked as Tails arrived, then his features eased into a smile. "Hello there."m

Antoine had meandered off in the direction of Knothole's kitchen, seeing as Bunnie and Tails were there to take care of things. Plus, he was getting rather hungery after being up so early guarding the Power Ring Pool.

"I sure can understand not wantin' to be cooped up in a hole in the ground," Bunnie said, stroking absently at the fur of the squirrel boy she was holding. When Tails arrived she seemed to brighten slightly, "Hey honey, yeah, poor thing just had a nasty scare's all," and then, nudging the squirrel gently, "Look Ray, it's yer new friend,"

The golden squirrel opened his eyes, and seemed to perk up slightly at the sight of the fox. Sitting upright, but making no attempt to get loose of Bunnie's arms, Ray quietly greeted, " Hi, Tails." The child glanced a couple of times between the other boy and the rabbit that held him, apparently unable to decide whose custody to stay in.

"Hey," Tails said with a wave to Ray, "Glad to see you're ok. ...You are ok, right?"

" Y-yeah," Ray squeaked, hiccuping quietly. He still made no move to get down from Bunnie's arms. The squirrel folded his ears backwards; he never did get anything to eat, but the meal time had passed. Ray decided to take a chance. "Can.... c-can we... maybe... *squeak* g-get food again?"

He nodded. "Yeah... the underground's my element, but one could go crazy trapped there, never seeing the sky..." he trailed off. "It's very beautiful here..." He blinked at Tails. The kit hadn't responded to him initially, making him wonder if perhaps he didn't want to talk to him. Probably overreacting. He likely just didn't hear me."Hi, Tails... is it? Are you a good friend of Ray's?"

"Yeah, I think so. Rosie's nice like that," Tails told Ray. He then looked up at Mighty. "Um..well, yeah, I hope to be, I mean," he said.

The squirrel's mouth scrunched inward as though he'd suddenly tasted something sour. He was used to being hungry, but in this place, Ray was quickly learning that he didn't have to be hungry. A part of him wondered if he should be more prudent, but hunger wasn't something the boy enjoyed living with. This place apparently had so much food that they could have it whenever they wanted, or close to it. His stomach growled; he wanted it. And besides, Tails would be with him. Ray had never personally known another kid; though he had seen strangers before, they were usually adults, and it was always one of his parents that dealt with them. On the off-chance that he did see another child, they'd been kept at a distance just as he had been. Tails seemed to understand Ray on a level that adults apparently missed -- though at the same time, Tails was also diving headfirst into situations that made the timid squirrel lose bladder control. Ray's eyes rose to Bunnie. As much as he wanted to eat, he also didn't want to leave her care. Her mechanical limbs still unnerved him in many ways, but the gentle nurturing she'd consistantly shown him brought the squirrel a sense of calm -- greatly preferred over overwhelming terror. She'd been very patient and ginger with him. Being hungry was a minor price to pay to stay under her wing. The squirrel whimpered, glancing back and forth between Tails and Bunnie. Who to choose?? (1 = stay with Bunnie, 2 = go with Tails) [dice=2] Ray glanced at Mighty. One thing he knew well was that when grown-ups talked, children stayed quiet an out of the way. Maybe he should head off with Tails after all. With a small grunt (which sounded more like a squeak coming from him), Ray dislodged himself from Bunnie's hip and attempted to squirm to the ground.[rand=991540196363759612907162730961086972987989646885220024013329808432]

"Oop, whoop, hold on a sec hon," Bunnie began as the squirrel began trying to climb down out of her arms. Unfolding the arm supporting him she gently allowed him to slide off until his feet hit the ground.

With Bunnie's assistance, his weather-worn and barely holding together sneakers tapped gently onto the dirt. It was a pleasant alternative to tumbling onto his rear end, to be sure. Ray peered back up at the rabbot, his ears slightly askew.. and cracked a miniscule, but grateful, smile at her. " Th-thank you." That taken care of, Ray quickly scurried to Tails' side and latched hold of his arm, looking up at him expectantly.

The armadillo waved to the two of them, then turned back to Bunnie. "He seems very fond of you... I'm glad... he was really a wreck when I found him... poor thing."m

"Take care, hon!" Bunnie waved after the two boys. Their mentioning of food reminded her that she hadn't had a chance to eat herself. However, with as late in the morning as it was now, she figured it was probably a better idea to just wait until lunch time to fetch something. Instead, she turned back to look at Mighty, shook her head and smiled sympathetically, "Shoulda seen him last night. Poor dear thought he was gonna catch robot from me or somethin'," she chuckled softly, "Yeah, he's calmed down a bit, but still timid'n scared. Poor dear's been worried sick about his ma and pa."

Mighty nodded. "He was pretty sheltered... poor thing. He was pretty upset when I took him away... but well... his parents have been missing for a long time, so it's more likely than not that... well..." He trailed off uncomfortably.m

"Yeah," the rabbit said somberly, "Well, at least he's in good hands now. 'M glad to see he's taken to Tails so well; he's been needin' someone closer to his age to play with."

The armadillo nodded, "Yes, I'm happy... Tails is the only other child here, isn't he? I'm glad for the both of them that they atleast have each other... I mean, it's not like they're alone, but like you said... much nicer to have someone close to their age." He shifted a little, now glancing at the rabbot, taking her in. He was still smiling, but now a little sadly. "If you don't mind me asking... what happened to your limbs? Were you partially roboticized...?"

At first Bunnie was a bit surprised by the question, moreover its sheer obviousness as she arched her brow quizzically. She smirked, placing her hands on her hips with a look of playful contempt. "Nah hon, this here's a fashion statement Ah'm makin'. Ya'll think it'll catch on?"

He looked embarassed. "It's just that, from what I've seen of the roboticizer, it would be difficult, if not impossible, to be roboticized like that..." He paused at her response, "Sorry," he added, quite sheepishly. "But a fashion statement? Wouldn't you prefer a hat?" A faint smirk.

Just following the cyborg echidna was their so-called leader, Griff. "And obviously Lilli is very happy to-" And Griff lo and behold, for he has stumbled upon the last place he wasn't comfortable with...the Grotto. Great...is this what they say; criminals return to the scene of the crime?

There was a pause. "I think my brain died." Rubbing his head, "I just remembered that I am familiar with--" And then he was hugged. Even caught completely offguard, he managed to loosely return the hug, staring. "Lilli?!" A pause. "Zach...? Griff...?" "Hi! What are you guys doing here?"

"Griff came to speak to you in regard to your sudden departure," Zack stated, "I came in the interest of a forest bath." Idly twisting his cane into the ground, the echidna noticed his niece begin to wander off and debated following after her. He paused only for a moment when he caught sight of Bunnie, his brow slowly arching up. He muttered a faint "Hmm," to himself. Bunnie caught the look and immediately matched it with an air of curiosity. For a long time Robotnik had been the only other cyborg she was aware of, and now only days apart she had discovered two others... She couldn't help but find it strange. "Oh," finally she shook her head, realizing her manners as she waved. "Howdy!"

The armadillo gave him a friendly smile. "A forest bath, huh? Well sure, but that would have to wait a bit~" However, when Griff spoke, he looked guilty. "I'm sorry I left without saying anything... it was... well, it was sudden... .. er... sorry. Really. ... Um, Miss Bunnie, this is Griff and Doctor Zachary, good friends of mine," he gestured to the two of them respectively as he introduced them. "Griff, Zack, meet Miss Bunnie~"

"Oh, hello." Griff greeted to Bunnie. He haven't met the other Freedom Fighters, even back when he first came to Knothole. "Look Mighty, think nothing of it. I understand why you guys left. But uh..." Rubbing his neck. "...well, actually I kinda like to speak with all of you. Where's Honey?"

"Howdy," Bunnie greeted, before smirking a bit at Griff. She may not have met him in person before, but she'd definitely heard tales courtesy of Sally. "Ah ha, so ya'll're the romeo who got Sugahog all bristlin', huh?" Zack gave a nod to Bunnie as they were introduced. "Hello." He stood there for a moment and listened to the youngsters speak, waiting to see if he were needed for the conversation at all. Seeing no reason to stay he turned and wondered off in the direction Lilli had gone.

Breaking away his conversation from Mighty, Griff sunk into a shameful look. "Y-yeah. I kinda...um...still kicking myself for that."
