She was gone quite a while this time -- at least twice as long as she spent finding the King's Paw leaves. Tikal's anxiety had dramatically increased over this task; fear of failure hung over her head like a dark cloud. When she finally returned, the young echidna didn't seem quite so excited to show off her findings. Instead she shuffled to where Athair sat, yet at the same time stayed out of his arm's reach, and reluctantly revealed the meager amount of blueish berries nestled in her palms. " Are... Are these correct, Elder..?" Tikal's eyes focused down on the small handful of berries, rather than into her grandfather's face as usual.

Athair stood, and knelt in front of Tikal, picking up one of the berries and examining it, before nodding as he placed it back in Tikal's hands. "Yes they are. Good job." The elder paused, then rested his hands on Tikal's, closing her hands around the berries for a moment as he spoke. "Tikal... please, relax. I'm not your father, and a simple mistake is no where near enough to make me disappointed in you." The priest smiled again softly as he removed his hands, while simultaneously taking the berries to be placed in his pouch. He would dry them out later... there were more important things to address at the moment.

I still shouldn't have made it to begin with, Tikal thought silently, while nodding at Athair's words. Pulling in a deep breath, holding it, then letting it out slowly, the priestess set about carefully unfolding her cloak and placing the gathered food items back into it. "The others are probably awake and hungry," she gently observed, picking up the bundle. "I'm going to go make breakfast now. If there are other things you need, Elder, I'll do my best to find them for you before we pack up."

Athair watched Tikal collect her foragings, and stood, leaning on his cane for a moment. "There shouldn't be anything else. Not here, at least." He couldn't escape the feeling that he hadn't healed the unmeant damage as well as he'd hoped... but he had nothing but time. "Lead the way, granddaughter." The echidna smiled softly as he spoke, his cane as always supporting his weight.
