It was then that another voice began to talk above the other. "... Will you stop that!? You're not even a woman!"

Sally's pace quickened, as did her heart. She definatly knew that voice! Could it be that they'd gotten lucky and Robotnik hadn't roboticized them?

Bunnie's heart leapt into her throat, and with a startled gasp charged after the direction of that voice. "Oh, details, details." the first voice said, growing louder as the two girls approached. "Someone sounds jealous of my taaaaaleeeeent~"

". . . JEALOUS!?" the second voice sputtered back indignantly. "Do you have a magnet plastered to your skull or something?! I am NOT jealous!"

Silently creeping up the the vent cover leading to the room that was the source of the voices, Sally peered trhough the slots, expecting to see a couple of fammiliar, non roboticized people...only to have the latter part of that theory get tossed out the window immediatly. "Oh chaos..." she whispered. It was Tails and Dr. Finitevus all right, but they WERE roboticized...which didn't make sense. From what she'd heard about the process, the two should be mindless drones. Why were they acting...normal?

"Well, I certainly know getting defensive like that doesn't help your argument," Finitevus grinned with amusement. "Now come here and give me your thoughts on this data segment." Taken aback with confusion over what she was seeing, Bunnie could only stare. Her heart beat wildly as her mind quickly began jumping to the only conclusion it could think of - had they somehow managed to break their programming's control the same way Uncle Chuck had? It seemed farfetched, but...

Tails made a face somewhat like ">:\" in response. "Maybe so, but agreeing with you doesn't exactly help either." The robo fox retorted. As he talked, Tails moved closer to see what Fini was talking about. "What about it so far?"

Sally made up her mind to investigate this. She peered around the room as best she could through the vent slots. "Bunnie," she whispered, "Do you see any kind of controls for an intercom or alarm anywhere?"

"Look at this," he said, gesturing to a few points, "These aren't the same energy signatures from our world. Is it only me, or do these readings look like they belong to Sol?" Humming faintly as she looked, "Ah think... beside the console there, looks like what's prolli an alarm switch..." she turned to face Sally. "Whatcha got in mind?"

The robotic fox studied the locations, frowning and putting a hand to his chin in thought. "... You know, they kind of do. Do you think the Sol dimension also have portals connected to here?"

"These traces are much fewer compared to the number of signatures from our world because there aren't anywhere near as many Sol characters, but, I don't see why to doubt the possibility. Another interesting thing - look at this..." He tapped a few buttons on the keyboard, altering the diagrams so that they began to show minute traces of a foreign signature. "I've only seen a couple of these, but... these traces are unlike anything I'm familiar with," he paused, allowing that revelation to sink in as he turned to the mechanized kit, "What do you think?"

"Just wanted to be cautious," she said, pulling out her blaster again. "All right, when I tell you to, knock open this vent cover," she told Bunnie, "I'll take out the alarm first." She then carefully took aim at the alarm panel through the slots in the vent. "Three...two...one..." She fired, a laser blast streaking across the room, turning the alarm panel into a sparking mess. "...Now!"

Before Tails could study the new data, BABLAM! A lazer streaked into a console in the room. "Gah!" Alarmed, Tails held up one arm defensively, while quickly glancing about to see who the heck was shooting at him.

Fini mirrored the kit's actions, turning in time to the sounds of the room's vent cover being ripped away to see the two girls climbing out... Bunnie gave a quick glance around the room as she hopped inside. Once having finally gotten a good look at the room's other occupant, her brow raised, recognizing him as that old cyborg that had once visited from Lower Mobius... "... Dr. Zachary?!"

Surprise, shock, concern, and appreciation rushed through Tails as he saw two rather familiar figures hop from out of an AIR VENT of all places. But before he could utter a cry of mixed emotion, the programming kicked in. A million messages bombarded his body, identifying Bunnie and Sally as priority one Freedom Fighters... which was true in Bunnie's case, however, this Sally was from his world. Regardless, there was only one thing that his programming wanted him to do, and it overrode any and all things Tails tried to inhibit its progress. Quickly, Tails was forced to shift into an aggressive posture, and he snarled at the two 'intruders'. "Freedom Fighters, priority one! Detain by order of Robotnik!" He yelled. Inside, Tails was terrified. What the hell was that? What did that... did that mean... was he? OH HELL NO. And then he lunged at Bunnie! [dice=6] With a well placed kick, Sally knocked Tails to the foor before pointing her blaster at Finitevus. "Bunnie, lock the doors!"[rand=13702189276334825855134813959256562511145676880811064090995485054]

"... Shoot," Bunnie muttered to herself, dashing off to do as she was told. Finitevus, meanwhile, looked down at the weapon pointed at him, then over toward Bunnie and frowned. "I don't recommend letting her do that."

"And why wouldn't I, Dr. Finitevus?" she asked, slipping in his name to let him know which version of her he was dealing with, if he didn't already.

'Why', she asked? Well, once reason is that, unlike organics, robots do not usually go down in one hit. So when Tails was kicked to the side, he immediately got up, and attacked Bunnie's backside. "Detain by order of Robotnik!" [dice=6][rand=1888973901094732954471479814234650034246190980420028633687569008525]

[dice=6] Thankfully, Bunnie managed to drop into a roll and clear his path before that happened. "I'd greatly prefer Robotnik not increase the security again," as he spoke, the pangolin quite brazenly took to walking over toward Tails' direction, despite the agent's gun still trained on him. After the roboticized kit had failed his second attack Finitevus attempted to wrap both his arms and tail around him in a bear hug that would restrain him. "Down, boy." [dice=6] One robian fox, successfully restrained! Of course, while Fini's hold did keep Tails from attacking, the fox's programming still single-mindedly struggled to free itself and attack Bunnie and Sally. An inkling of gratefulness trickled through Tails before he resumed a blank slate of emotion.[rand=51560837046912885877961949067511806937470588811410693747272934578]

Sally was, by now, throughly confused. "Okay...I'll give," she said to Fini, though she still kept her weapon trained on him, "...aren't you working with this Robotnik?"

Finitevus snerked, then began to openly chuckle, turning so that Tails was now purposely between him and Sally as he kept a tight grip over him. "Oh, not so much. No more by choice than the poor lad here anyway. I did try to offer him an alliance, but, well, he chose not to take me seriously. It probably had something to do with my lack of underwear." his amused expression gave way to one of cold seriousness. "Too bad really. I'm going to have to kill him now." Sally wasn't the only one who was thoroughly confused as Bunnie dusted herself off and joined her by her side, giving a sideways glance at the two robians. Now that she had gotten closer she was able to get an even better look at the pangolin... and more importantly, she recognized that he wasn't the same species as who she thought. "Ya'll... ain't Dr. Zachary," she finally said.

"No, I'm afraid not," she told Bunnie, "He calls himself Dr. Finitevus, and on my world he's about as dangerous as your Robotnik." She hadn't taken her eyes off the robopangolin the entire time. "Ok, so I take it you're still under his control in some way?" she nodded, "That would explain Tails."

"Huh. About as dangerous. How amusingly hypocritic." he turned his gaze over to Bunnie, eyeing over the girl who had mistaken him for his counterpart. He almost instantly recognized her as the incarnation of one of his patients - though, her appearance was definitely off. Those were not the limbs he had designed. "As to your question," he said, looking at Sally again and giving a sly little smirk. "I'm afraid I'm not currently at liberty to answer that right now." "Hold up," Bunnie said, shaking her head and putting a hand up as she tried to wrap her mind around this. "Ah ain't never heard of no robian only havin' partial free will. Is that what ya'll're tryin' to say?" "That would be the gist of it, yes," the robian pangolin answered. "My apprentice here has the ability to act freely so long as it doesn't contradict any orders given to him by this world's Robotnik," he snerked slightly, looking down at the still struggling fox in his arms. "And it would seem both of you are very agitating to his programming."

"Yeah well, I don't really mind being irritating to Robotnik," she said, though giving Tails a sympathetic glance. "I don't suppose you would, or could, tell us if you know of any way to...cure you two?"

"Hmm." Finitevus just stared the GUN agent down for a few moments, mentally debating with himself on how to answer. On the one hand, he didn't particularly want to reveal his secret to anyone just yet. But on the other, if the control of Tails' programming could be broken, that would be very useful. As it stood he wasn't sure how the kit may react to him once letting him go - his own programming hadn't seemed to care much about that Chuck person... He had attributed it to an oversight with Robotnik's repeated assurances of how that chip was supposed to work. Still, even upon releasing him his programming was still going to go crazy until 'proper' action was taken. The increased security outside was bad enough, he really didn't want to have Robotnik post guards inside the lab. The more complications he could avoid, the better. And besides, maybe these two could be useful in some way... He 'exhaled', turning his focus away rather than answering Sally. "Tails, for as brilliant as you are you still lack sheer wit and willpower." he began to shift his grip on the small fox so he could hold him by the shoulders, then lowered his head to speak at ear level. "Alright. I know you can hear me in there. I want you to focus. You don't want to hurt either one of these ladies, do you?"

While outwardly, there was no change and Tails' body contintued to try to free itself to get at the two girls, inwardly a great battle had started. It did not begin like any epic and dramatic war of old always did, with great battle cries and mighty heroes drawing their swords while on their steeds, but rather this clash began almost subtly, so much so that not even Tails noticed it at first. He had watched the conversation remotely, barely even annoyed by how they were talking whilst the programming tried to free his body and rip the girls' faces off. But when Fini began to address him, he was forced to reach out from the empty shell the traumatized fox had withdrawn into. He wanted to answer in earnest, he truely did, but Tails found that once again the accursed programming was in his way. And unlike the other times, where it had just been an inconvienence, the programming seemed hell bent on ignoring the host it was attatched to, and was immensely focused on those two organics. Dimly, Tails thought how Fini already knew the answer to his own question. But then that was being dense. He knew Fini was goading him into something... but the problem was Tails didn't think there was much left to goad inside him. And thus the fight began.

Sally looked at Tails pityingly. "I...hate to ask, but is there any way to...shut him off until we can help him?" she asked, "If we could find a way to disable..." she stopped realizing something. She looked at Fini suspiciously, "Wait a second...how are YOU overcomming your programming?"

"Perhaps if you watched you might learn something," Finitevus just shot the agent an annoyed look. Turning his focus back to Tails he nudged him. "Come on boy. Focus! If I can control it then I KNOW you can. Now do it!" Bunnie's eyes widened a bit as she watched. Even though she hadn't witnessed it herself, she recalled the story Sonic had told about Chuck and how he overcame his programming. It seemed a long shot, but... "Come on, honey!" she said, inching closer to and kneeling down to his level. "Fight it!"
