It was still several minutes before the youngest of the three echidnas returned -- and in very high spirits. Tikal trotted merrily in the direction of her grandfather, toting an armload of flowers with silver blossoms. About a dozen of the same flower formed a botanic crown around her head. "Elder!!" the priestess eagerly greeted as she appeared at his side, huffing quietly for breath. "I was *pant* walking Bella and her *pant* grandfather away *pant* and when I *pant pant* was coming back *pant* I found *pant* a cluster of Star Lotuses!!" Kneeling to bring the flowers to a rest at Athair's feet rather than simply dropping them, Tikal continued, " I felt bad that I *huff* had to rush off this morning before you finished, so *breath* I thought I could bring you these... Just in case you needed them." The young woman peered up at her elder with a shy smile, and tentatively awaited his reaction.

The elder smiled, picking up one of the flowers and looking it over with a practiced eye. The blossoms of a Star Lotus, when dried, worked quite well for irritable bowels. As he remembered this, though, his smile shifted subtly. "Thank you, dear. I have been having a bit of bowel irritation lately." The echidna stated in seemingly all serious, although he glanced very subtly in the direction of the younger male.

However, Tikal never noticed the look; instead, it suddenly occurred to her that she still wore several flowers atop her head, and the priestess abruptly hustled to pull the crown down and deconstruct it. "I'm sorry, Elder, I know it's silly. I just figured it'd be a handy way to get back a little more than I could carry in my arms without damaging them..." Upon getting the dozen-or-so blossoms untangled, Tikal added them to the rest. For just a second, her eyes darted over to her father at the lakeshore. He hadn't seen her with another one of her silly flower crowns, had he...?

Athair's smile simply widened a little. "I think it looked rather fetching on you." With a soft chuckle, he collected the flowers into his lap, carefully twining them into a rope of sorts, the blossoms lined up almost perfectly, so he could simply pluck off flowers as needed, then coiled the whole thing... But it was of note that he'd left the flowers Tikal had used to make her crown, a sort of silent permission from him to remake her crown if she wanted to.

At Athair's compliment, Tikal smiled and failed to hold back a faint giggle. "Thank you, Elder. You're so much kinder than you have to be." Suddenly the priestess found herself with a surprisingly forceful urge to hug her grandfather, and for just a second, almost moved to do so. But the impulse quickly passed, and the girl cast her eyes aside. He... probably wouldn't like that. I'm sure he only did it last night because I was making such a scene. It'd be more respectful not to invade his space, anyway.Instead, the young echidna decided to redirect her attention onto the firepit, and knelt beside it to begin its deconstruction.

The elder just smiled, and rested his cane across his legs. "I beg to differ. I am always exactly as kind as I have to be." With a small chuckle he then placed the cane to the side, and knelt next to Tikal, helping her take the firepit apart.

Hearing a bit of activity behind him, Pachacamac turned slightly, rubbing at his shoulder as he did so. Tikal had returned. He frowned and pondered. Surely the Elder, crazy as he is, wouldn't start anything while Tikal was there? With a sigh, he went to return.

Noting the approach of her father, Tikal looked up and greeted him with a pleasant smile. Her face and hands had become black with soot, as well as random other places where she'd contacted her own fur. "Hello, Father. The Elder and I are nearly finished cleaning up camp, so we can be going soon if you'd like!"

Pachacamac nodded slightly, giving Tikal a noncommittal, "that's fine, Tikal" whilst giving the Elder a somewhat weary glance. Truely, he regretted ever telling the Elder that he could come along.

Athair, meanwhile, was glad he'd come along. Otherwise, who knows what would happen to his grand-daughter? The elder stood, leaning on his cane, and simply glancing at Pachacamac like their entire exchange earlier hadn't happened. ... Except for that faint sense of forboding coming from the elderly male, warning that far worse could be in store, depending on how Pachacamac behaved.

Luckily, Tikal remained oblivious to the tension between her elders for at least the time being. Finishing smoothing over the sand where the fire pit had once been, the young woman scampered down to the shoreline to wash the ash and soot from her body. "Father?" the priestess called over her shoulder, sounding rather chipper. "I was thinking, since I caused us to lose our supplies... Perhaps today we could go scavenging at the attack site, in case something could be salvaged?" Tikal sheepishly shuffled back to Pachacamac's side, chuckling uncomfortably and wringing her hands together. " I mean, it doesn't erase what I did, but it'd be worth it to at least look, right?"

Pachacamac ignored that feeling of foreboding- even if it was like ants crawling up and down his back. Nodding slightly with a frown to his daughter, he replied. "Yes, that may be a wise idea. I doubt those Metal Demons have much need for our supplies. Perhaps there'll be something we may scavenge."

Tikal seemed pleased that her idea had been dubbed a good one, but not immensely so, and her anxiety never decreased -- mostly because the exchange reminded her of how terribly she'd treated her father, and that it cost him much of what he'd worked for. Furthermore, going to look for salvagable goods wasn't even her own idea; it had been Athair's the night before. Nodding once to Pachacamac, the young echidna retreived her cloak to get ready to go.

Having heard the whole exchange, Athair simply strode (as well as one can with a cane) to his grandaughter, and simply restted a hand on her head. A slight sign of approval for the girl's behavior, but one nonetheless. "Everything will be fine. As Pachacamac said, those demons no doubt left the supplies alone, having no need for them." And even if they hadn't, Athair was certain he would be able to find something to make up for lost supplies. He was rather good at that sort of thing.
