GOODBYE, AIR, IT WAS NICE KNOWING YOU. GOODBYE, SPLINTERLESS BUTT, IT WAS NICE KNOWING YOU TOO. GOODBYE, CHANCE OF FREEDOM.

Luke just burried his face in his hands and walked towards the downed tenrec. Well, he got about two-hundred feet; that was a new record.
"Was that really necessary?" he asked of the hunter as he knelt down to inspect Dash. The last thing he wanted was for an already injured thrope to be hurt even more.
"Are you okay?"

The large... built... woman hunter glared down at the doctor.
"Seeing as YOU let him get away.... Yeah I did"
She held tightly onto the rope that bound the tenrec... not happy that part of her paycheck almost got away.

"... noh." Unhappy tenrec wasn't happy.

After undoing the lasso that was tied around the animal, Luke got to his feet and offered Dash a hand up.
"Come on. Why don't we go back to my office to finish the examination? It would be calmer there, plus the equipment I need to repair your jaw is there anyway."

He looked up, eyeing the hunter, then back down the pier... Even if he ran, he probably couldn't get too far. And even if he did, then what? He couldn't swim, and if he took a boat... well, he'd probably have a fleet of boats on his tail. He mumbled, ears drooped. " yahshorewutevah"

Luke nodded as he helped the tenrec up.
"Alright. Just let me go back to the dock and collect my things, okay? After that, we can go down into Eden proper."
He still found it tragic... All this thrope wanted was to live his own life, and instead, he was forced to come here against his will. It didn't matter that, judging from the stories he heard about the outside world from hunters, he would probably be more comfortable and safe here than out there, he still had the right to choose.
He knew it before and this experience did not change his mind: Luke hated feral inspections.
