<Yes,> Finitevus agreed. <There is no time to waste. I want you, Lance and Dash to concentrate only on finding me as soon as Dash's repairs are finished. Everything else is irrelevant! Robotnik is having Tails and I build a gate back to our world. We're going to use that as our escape route and rig it to self-destruct shortly after, so we must be coordinated!>

<We're on it,> the pangolin replied. <I'll contact you again in an hour or so and update you on our status.> The communication line then went dead.

<One last thing,> Finitevus said, re-opening the line. <Earlier I happened to encounter Agent Acorn. We've agreed to a temporary truce. Finding her isn't a requirement, or preferable for that matter, but she is on the lookout for you should you run into her. Finitevus out.> The roboticized pangolin leaned back in his seat, wishing badly he could pull in the deep exhausted breath he desired, but settled with dissatisfaction for merely imitating the sound. With that somewhat out of his system he sprang forward and began working once again on that accursed data. "You're free to do as you wish Anansi," he said. "Tails, I've just relayed our escape plan to one of my subordinates and they're going to be on their way as soon as possible. We..." he grit his teeth slightly, glaring at Anansi's icon. "Shouldn't stall any longer."

During what seemed like a long, unnerving, and silent respite to the roboticized kit, Tails had been working furiously on the gem within his grasp, having sensed from the angry outburst, and Anansi's admission, that time was growing short. So when Finitevus suddenly spoke up once more, though noticibly more calmly than earlier, Tails merely glanced quickly back and gave a determined nod. "There's no doubt in my mind that it'll be close, really close. If they don't get here before we're finished, it's gonna be tough to stall for more time. And even if they do, he's probably going to waddle as fast as those tree trunks can take him to the portal as soon as he finds out it's operational." Tails said, not bothering to mention Anansi's already-known problem. He also neglected to mention more problems if, once, the kit amended, they got through the portal and into their own world. While still as challenging as the first Fake Chaos Emerald he created, the extra experience gave him time to think on the fly. Robots, especially those built to look like the heroes, were not happily received in the Chaos Dimension. Right now, Tails, and Fini, looked an awful lot like a robot Eggman would have created. Except for those who knew the truth, who would ever belive two robots spouting something not even the tabloids could conceive? And Sonic. What would Sonic do if he saw him like this? Tails winced, the final question sending phantom nausea through his gut.

"Hmm," the pangolin mused. "We'll still need to do a test run before we can deem it safe... If absolutely necessary we could force a malfunction. Otherwise..." he trailed off for a moment, frowning. "We may need to leave them behind. Once we're on the other side we'll be able to construct our own gate, so, as long as they can stay safe we'll be able to retrieve them." I swear to Chaos, Dashiel, if you bring it down to that...

Anansi's voice sounded tired as she chimed in, her icon glowing softly as she spoke. "This Robotnik guy doesn't sound like the type who'd be very patient. If you two DID convince him to let you have a test run, he'd send SWATbots... I can hijack one and have it destroy the others on the other side while you get through..." At least... she was pretty sure she could.

"Like I said, there's not going to be a lot of time, no matter what happens." Tails replied, frowning at Fini's suggestion. It was entirely possible they they would be forced to leave his subordinates behind... but Fini had already told them to come. They'd be walking right into Robotnik's hands if they were left behind. Tails hoped to Chaos that they could all make it out together. And then Tails was suddenly reminded. He still wanted to find his toaster.
