Chrono smiled. " I have an idea... but while Mr. Skittish is here it's best not to... " Chrono supported Nik as he tried to walk.

"Okay I'll calm down."The overland cringed a bit as the robian touched him, frowning and jerking away from Chrono, stummbling a bit as he did so. Once he regained his footing, he pointed at the robian, taking a deep gulp and trying to regain his courage. "I'm not afraid of you. I'm not afraid of any of you."

"That's good," Rob tried to say in a soft, comforting tone "There's no need to be afraid of us, we're friends." he thought of Manic's reaction, his expression grimming a bit; Well, most of us...And so he lead the human through the placid looking shady tree-borne village, only the occasional shafts of sunlight glittering with dust shown through as leaves and twigs yet to be swept from the platform crunched under their feet. Eventually the hedgehog stopped in front of a particular lodge that was cradled sturdily between the branch and trunk of one of the forest's namesake oak trees. It was the closest of the vacant lodges in the village, and as such Rob assumed it to be the one Bean had chosen to prepare. Of course, without the duck in obvious plain sight to ask, there was only one other way to find out. He paused as his hand reached for the handle, his hand hovering in mid-air as his expression turned into a frown. He glanced back at Nik. "You might stand out here and wait a moment for me," he paused, looking for a good excuse the timid human might find justifiable "I'm not sure if this is the right lodge Bean prepared, so, let me have a look around before you come in, alright?" Turning back to the door and scrunching his mouth with uncertainty, he twisted the knob and stepped inside, his alert high. One could never be sure what to expect when dealing with Bean.

The overlander fidgeted and twitched a bit, attempting to wring an arm but wincing due to sunburn when his fingers graced the skin, instead deciding it'd be a much better idea just to stand, looking around the strange village uncertainly. It really was nothing like home. The heights still bothered him greatly, but compared to everything else, it was the least of his worries. When the beast spoke, he simply nodded in response. It didn't seem right to him. From what he knew of these ... creatures... he should of been soup by now. But he wasn't. Were they trying to trick him or something? Maybe when they're not paying attention he could sneak off... couldn't trick someone who wasn't around, after all. Maybe tonight... he winced again, wondering. Is moonlight as bad as sunlight?

No sooner had the hedgehog stepped inside the room, there was a sound of rope snapping, quickly accompanied by several splatting sounds. Then all fell silent for a good thirty seconds or so. Finally, Rob calmly stepped back out, now covered from head to toe with several coconut cream pies. "Alright, you can come in now."

Chrono looked hurt as his reaction. He seemed so... repulsed. Well, he had been acting funny to begin with... The robian looked down at his hands. (Claws, he corrected himself)... and sighed. No longer in the mood to play the counter-prank on the troublemakers. Dejected, he slinked off quietly.

Nik kinda... stared blankly at the cream covered hedgehog (...). compared to how everything else had gone so far today, it actually didn't seem that odd. Which sort of said something. " Uhm... okay."

"... Sorry about the mess," the hedgehog sighed, frowning and wiping cream off him "I should have known better than to send Bean to set things up... him and his pranks... everyone and their pranks..." Another sigh "I'll see about cleaning that up. You just worry about getting yourself comfortable."

The overlander nodded in an absent minded way, and made his way into the hut, his mind still pondering over escape plans. He was exhausted right now anyway, and if he wanted to try and escape by nightfall, he'd need his energy... Out of habit, he muttered "Thank you" to the hedgehog- but only out of habit.

The hedgehog nodded and disappeared out the door. A short time later he returned, a towel covered in pie cream over one shoulder and several more clean towels tucked under his arm. He immediately crouched down and took to wiping off the mess all over the floor. The glanced up at the human as he worked "I don't believe I ever caught your name," he spoke after a moment.

The overland flopped (litterally) face first onto the bed, groaning slightly at the sudden pressure on his sunburn. But it was nice to be laying down. After a moment of silence, a muffled reply along the lines of "Nik" came back.

The hedgehog nodded, even though Nik wasn't able to see it "I'm Rob, in case you didn't catch it earlier... you didn't really seem to be paying a lot of attention..." His chewed his lip a bit "How'd you end up in that nasty condition anyway?"

Another muffled, tired reply. "Sun."

Rob frowned a bit. It was pretty obvious the guy was out of it, so he opted to just staying quiet for awhile as he finished up cleaning the gunk off the floor. He let off a short, tired off when he finally finished and pulled himself back up to his feet. "Are you in need of anything? Perhaps I could offer you some food or water? If not I'll just leave you to rest for now."

Another muffled reply. May of been a yes, may of been a no. Hard to tell, really, when someone is face down in a mattress.

The hedgehog twisted his mouth, rubbing at the back of his head. Shifting between his feet a moment he stepped over toward the human and nudged him gently on the shoulder. "Ah.. could you repeat that Nik? I didn't quite catch it."

Nik lifted his head from the mattress and... mumbled the exact same thing he did before. O kaaaay, so maybe the mattress didn't have so much to do with it as exhaustion did. And then he flopped back down.

Rob tilted his head to one side and arched his brow. "Alright then, I'll just... Leave you be to rest for awhile. I'll check back in later, alright? So... take care then," With that Rob turned, scooped up the mess of dirty towels and stepped out the door, making sure to close it softly behind him.
