"Everything." Resson retrieved his pocket device, which was configured into a sort of hand-held personal computer. "If you could just send all the data into this, I can review it more easily."

Rush blinked at Gemerl for a few seconds...before slapping his forehead. "What is WITH everyone asking me about that girl all of a sudden?! Is she secretly the Easter Bunny or something?" He gave Gemerl a flat look. "Yeah, I saw a rabbit girl, and her batshit insane mother too -- or at least I think it was her mother, might've been a stalker or something from the way she was acting -- but anyway, I don't know where either of them went. I wasn't paying much attention, what with being shot at by robots at the time." He turned to Resson. "Hey dad, did you see which direction she flew off in?"

[dice=2] (Letting fate decide something for me Oh, a 2! Lucky Resson.) "I was supposed to be watching Cream when she disappeared into a portal. I followed her through however... I don't believe we arrived at the same location. I'm very glad to hear she is nearby, however, I was very worried for her." At this point Gemerl tilted his head. "But the description of the other rabbit does not fit her mother." And the mention of the strange women being a stalker bothered Gemerl greatly... An arm popped from a hatch on the orb-like droid, gingerly plucking the hand-held from the Prof's hand. "If that's what you'd like, sure." Of course, what he'd be giving the Prof. wasn't anything he couldn't find on his own with enough research, as, after all, it'd be a violation of the extraterrestrial's code to give anything else, friend or not. But what he'd be giving him would be at least be helpful... Another limb appeared out of the droid's surface, connected to the hand-held for a moment, then retracted again. The droid held the device back to it's owner. "Here you go, I hope that helps." [rand=8687562855390796523874613575172023319914121222037167297158705654]

Resson took the device back and began to look over the data. "The Great Forest... a lot larger than I thought it was. I'm not sure there are any this large left in our world. Of course, it looks like a good deal of it has been cut down." He said this matter-of-factly, not really caring much about the welfare of the forest.

Not far away, if one was paying attention... or, really, if they weren't... They would hear a loud metallic clang, accompanied by a surprised cry. This would be immediately followed by a loud crash, a pained yelp, and a whoooooole lot of cursing.
A few birds and fish scattered from the nearby trees.

"Here, lemme see that for a second." Before either of them could protest, Rush had extracted a cable from a compartment on the side of his head and had hooked up to the device, downloading its data to his own systems. He was sick of being kept in the dark about this place. Unfortunately, he only got halfway finished with the download, because the sudden clamor forced an abort. Rush jerked the cable free and swung his buster around in a wide arc, targeting the surrounding forest as the cable smoothly retracted back into his head on its own. "What the heck was that?!" He cried shrilly, eyes wide. Paranoia was quickly becoming the order of the day for this place.

Resson looked in the direction of the noise. "Rush, does your blaster work? I've lost track." He really did need to increase that thing's durability.

The sounds of cursing persisted. Moments later this was followed by a loud clang and a good sized rock suddenly shot out of the bushes right between Rush and Resson. This was followed by even more cursing, though none of these were in pain. Nearby, a cyborg fox-like wolf shook his metallic foot, realizing he'd just put a nice dent in it after kicking the rock he'd tripped over. Though at that moment, a dent was the least of his concerns. He twisted his metallic arms around behind his back and felt around the plates that covered his shoulder blades. He winced in pain and drew his hand back to examine. Yep. He was bleeding. That fall had caused the plate to slice into the fleshy area of his back. "DAMN IT, IF I GET MY HANDS ON YOU, DASH..." he bellowed angrily.

Rush held up his blaster for Resson to inspect. "It transforms, but it doesn't fire." He looked rather annoyed at the confession. "Could you take a loo--" INCOMING ROCK. Rush reacted with inorganic speed, kicking the offending projectile away. He gazed unhappily at his foot afterwards. "Chipped my paint," He muttered. Sounds emerging from the forest in front of them made the corgi's head snap up in alarm. He quickly took up position in front of Resson and Gemerl, pointing his nonfunctional weapon towards the bushes. "Who's there?!" He demanded. No answer, just more cursing. Rush blinked. Dash? He recalled meeting someone who went by that name...but he'd lost track of the robo-tenrec after they'd entered the forest. Oh well, no time to worry about that now. With a silent gesture for Resson and Gemerl to wait there, Rush creeped forward and parted the shrubbery that was blocking his view of their assailant. "...Wha...?" Rush gawked. He was used to seeing lifeforms in two distinct categories; fully organic or fully robotic. This newcomer was some strange, bizarre mix of the two, and it threw Rush off. After a few moments of staring, Rush shook himself back to reality. The guy had just tried attacking them; this was no time to become disoriented. Rush resumed his defensive stance. "HEY!" He yelled out, trying to get the wolf's attention. "JUST HOLD IT RIGHT THERE PAL. Who are you?!"

Resson transfigured his pocket device into an arm-mounted plasma cannon and pointed it at the intruder, in case they tried to pull anything. Besides, Rush's didn't work.

The wolf froze after hearing unfamiliar voice's yell. Slowly he shifted his feet, turning around to face whoever it was who's just addressed him. His bristles stood when he spotted the weapons being pointed at him and threw his hands up like a shield. "Whoa! WHOA! I'm a Freedom Fighter! Put the guns down!"

Rush paused, accessing the new data he'd acquired. Yes, there was information on "Freedom Fighters" in there. He briefly scanned it. "...Huh, okay." He lowered his blaster to point at the ground -- why did he even still have it activated? Useless thing -- and relaxed slightly. Any enemy of Robotnik's was a friend of his. "Which group are you affiliated with?" His eyes narrowed. "And why are you out here alone? This area neighbors a hostile base, but you don't even appear to be armed."

Resson nodded. "It would be a bad idea to go any farther than here. We just narrowly escaped, and we were heavily armed. Were." Resson puts his hand on Rush's buster. It detaches (something that he never told Rush it could do), and he begins to work on it, his pocket device transforming into small tools for delicate work. "Whoever worked on you last used all the wrong sorts of parts. I'm going to have a word with Dart."

"No shit, Sherlock, what do you think I am, an idiot?" the wolf snapped to Rush, looking between the two suspiciously now that the weapons were lowered, focusing on the corgi again. "I'm from Knothole. Who are you besides my mother?" His brow arched when he saw the older of the two detach the corgi's arm.

Apparently, neither knew which way Cream had went. This was most unfortunate. Perhaps the newcomer knew where she was? "Excuse me, sir, have you seen a little rabbit girl around? It's very important that I find her." "I believe," began the silver droid, "that the safest place for all of you to go at this moment would be-" However, Bogert stopped short there. A moment later, the blue light on the droid flicked, then shut off completely, and the entire droid suddenly dropping out of the air, inactive.

Rush arched an eyebrow at the smart-mouthed wolf, his frown becoming more pronounced. Normally he'd consider those to be fighting words and would begin the duel right there, but he was a bit unarmed at the moment (or was that unhanded? Cripes, he didn't even know his father could DO that with his buster. Talk about rude shocks). Instead he decided to stall for time under the pretense of offering the guy a chance to calm down and redeem himself. "I'm the guy that'll kick your ass if you keep that up. Watch your mouth, buddy." He glanced at Resson out of the corner of his eye, hoping the repairs would not take long.

Resson's mouth widened in a look of concern and frustration. "The gold wiring's partly gone... you've got copper in here in parts instead... are you operating at full capacity? Copper isn't as good a conductor as gold is..." He does some final touches. "It won't operate at full capacity, but it should work until we can repair it optimally at the lab. Just don't charge it too much." He puts the buster back into place. He turns to say something to Bogert, then realizes that he cannot, because his drone is inactive and laying on the ground. He blinks and leans over, picking it up and examining it. It wasn't destroyed or damaged, or else it would have melted. "That's odd."

Lance's eyes widened a bit. He hadn't noticed that robot there before. But seeing as it'd asked him a question and wasn't making any threats he held his ground. He was obviously wary though. "Who, that kid Vanilla was having a conniption over? How do you know he--" He paused for a moment as he seemed to realize something. "... Aw maaaan. You guys are some more of those freaks from the Twilight Zone, aren't you?"

"I've never heard of the Twilight Zone. Is it like the Starlight Zone?" And whilst the robot and the fox wolf bantered (sort of) the droid suddenly returned to 'life' in Resson's hands. However, something was... off. Normally the lights on the droid's lenses would be a bright blue, but on this droid the lens only flickered blue for a moment, before fading into a deep vermillion. And not a word from Bogert, either.

"Hey, thanks Dad. Not having my gun enabled was getting really annoying." Rush aimed off to the side and fired an experimental shot: the gun shuddered oddly and the sound the plasma made as it exited the barrel was decidedly off-key, but it worked nonetheless. Rush lifted the ovular gun up to his face and blew the smoke away from its opening. "The guy who did the repairs was that Robotnik punk; he fixed me up just so he could break me again. I'm really not surprised he did a sucky job." He eyed Lance and decided to keep the buster out and armed, in case the wolf chose to make any more smart remarks. "My system has been trying to tell me he did it all wrong ever since I woke up in his interrogation room. I've been mostly just ignoring it." He gave his father a look of concern. "Is Dart here? I didn't see him arrive with you." He turned back to Lance as the wolf spoke. He smirked. "Well, if by 'Twilight Zone' you mean 'that other dimension', then yeah, you've ID'ed us. We decided to drop in and crash your party, hope you don't mind." Bogert's current state went completely unnoticed by him. He never cared much for the guy anyway. Too...weird, for his liking.

"We're not here to crash anyone's party. We WERE here to rescue a friend of ours from the clutches of a dragon, and there's nothing I wish more dearly for than for that to be a made up story to keep you from asking questions." The drone sparked back to life. "Oh, Bogert. What just happ-" ..Red? Bogert wasn't red. Resson studied the drone in silence.

. . . He put his hand up in a 'talk to the hand' fashion, simultaneously turning away. Too weird. Just too weird. "Yeah. Screw this." He turned and began to walk off, took three steps and paused in his tracks, pointing behind him (and repressing the urge to wince) at Gemerl without turning around to face him. Unknown to the wolf the agitation this caused to the cut his metal plated shoulder blade had made caused it to begin bleeding freshly again. "Hold up. Any of you freaks seen a robian tenrec missing an arm wandering around?"

The corgi looked up in surprise, having completely forgotten about Dash up until now. "...Actually, yeah. Metal Sonic rescued him from Robotropolis and brought him out here to the forest." He failed to mention how he knew this information: he wished to forget his own rescue as expediently as possible. "I dunno what he was doing over there in the first place or why Metal bothered, but yeah." Rush waved an arm in the air vaguely. "He's not here now, though. I guess he wandered off or something." He arched an eyebrow. "Why? Do you know him?" Pause. "Also, you're bleeding."

Rush...stared. He was doing the opposite of Resson -- focusing on the wolf to the exclusion of the sphere in his father's hands. "Wha...? Yeah, he was here, but he left." Rush pointed, once again, in the direction he believed Metal had gone. "You've got a snowball's chance in Hell of catching him now, if that's your goal." He narrowed his eyes at lance in a perfect imitation of his father. "What did he do to you, anyway?" It hadn't yet dawned on the corgi that there might be a double of his rival running around; rather, he was under the impression that their universe's Metal had encountered this person.

Lance concentrated on the ground with a slight grimace on his face. "Like hell I wanna catch him! Keeping that psycho distracted is Sonic's job!" he paused for a moment, his fists tightening with determination as he considered the possibilities. "Yeah, yeah, that makes sense... He must have been using Dash to weed out Knothole's location... Aurora damn it. I need to call an evacuation!" He turned, hiding the distraught he felt with a determined look as he dashed off back toward Knothole. Damn it, where are the others when you need them?!

Resson's eyes narrowed. He wasn't sure he was dealing with Bogert at the moment. "Elaborate, or I'll see to it that all your drones are destroyed on sight." His grip tightened a little bit.
