[dice=6] *CRACK* The sparrow stumbled back, clutching at her head where she'd been kicked as she whimpered, dropping down to sit on the floor, visibly wobbling, even sitting. "..." She doesn't say anything, and to her credit the onl sound of pain was that first whimper... but she still had tears flowing from her eyes.[rand=6370191285181359371435053848463185862284333013056362583024693091]

An irritated groan drifted up from the communicator. "As much as I would love to brag about how clever I am and be able to speak with my inter-dimensional self, I'm working on a time limit, and if I'm not mistaken I ordered a certain trio to seek me IMMEDIATELY after one of their repairs were completed!" As the quick succession of events transpired, the first thing Zachary found was that his mind had become a blank slate. As the facts slowly bled their way through he found his hands rolling into fists, and his jaw set with rage. At the moment he found himself unable to care if this was the princess, or an impostor, or who she looked like. "GET AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTER!" he snarled. The next thing Sally would realize was the ground rushing at her with incredible speed as Zachary shoved her out of his way and collapsed at the sparrow's side. Reaching toward her he embraced her against his chest. " Cassie, are you alright?" Bunnie's eyes were wide with shock. With little knowledge of the conflict between Sally and the group of what she hadn't realized were terrorists, or of what she was talking about, all she knew was that the squirrelmunk had just accosted an acquaintance of hers and then attacked his daughter for protecting him. Understandably her jaw was hanging quite low. "Sally-girl, what the hell?!"

Julie visibly cringed at Finitevus' chastising of his subordinates. "Sorry about that, doc," she replied, moving to Chuck's side and pulling the communicator toward herself (yet not taking it away). "I got us sidetracked because the geezer said he knew of a way to get you normal for good. But if you already did that yourself, we can just--" All of a sudden the scuff between sparrow, squirrel, and ugly!Fini broke loose, and the pangolin paused mid-sentence with her mouth hovering open. Curling her lip with incredulity, Julie made her way to Sally's side and squatted next to her. "Sheesh, GUN princess. Even I don't beat the shit out of little kids." Smirking and poking her finger into the agent's forehead, she added, "And you guys think you're so pious~"

However, even as she picked herself up off the floor, she looked even more stricken than Cassia should have been. She'd unfortunately had a good look at her 'attacker' a split second before she hit, and had been unable to do anything to stop by then. "I'm sorry...I didn't mean...! An accident..." she sputtered, so aghast at what she'd done that she couldn't form complete sentences at the moment.

Even though Julie had only meant to draw the communicator towards herself in order to speak with her contemptuous boss, it had fallen into her hands as Sir Charles turned from Finitevus to the woman who had so suddenly assaulted his friend and his adopted daughter. He had already been annoyed at the pangolin's haughty demeanor, but then was unable to respond due to the distraction that had so suddenly roused his ire, something even his nephew rarely saw. "No matter if it was an accident-" Charles said, his calm voice belying the emotions crashing violently behind his voice, "I expected more self-control." It was impossible to not compare this person in front of him to his own dear Sally. He had only known a few times where stress had gotten the better of the spirited princess, and so had never seen her counterpart's move coming. Leaving that to sink in, as well as to keep himself calm, he simulated another breath and broadened his voice. "At this point civility is all we have to keep the knife from our throats. While you're all here I suggest you heed me when I say I will not condone the slightest belittling of others." He hoped that while the others here (and hopefully Finitevus) would get the message, it doubled also as a concealed message that he was not at all pleased with how Sally had assaulted his debilitated friend. He didn't care if this "Black Doom" character wound up being worse than Robotnik was here; there were better ways to handle such news than what Sally had demonstrated. To Bunnie, it would be abundantly clear that behind his calm tone and civil warnings, the robotic hedgehog was in fact extremely frustrated. A large group of people were hiding in a small bunker hidden in the middle of an extremely hostile city, and despite the severity of the situation, still manage to act so barbaric! Even Sonic had more self-control than this!

The little sparrow just leaned into Zack's hug, letting out another muffled whimper as she clung to the echidna. " O-ooooow... I think m-my beak's bleeding." She just trembled in her adoptive father's arms, letting out little, distressed chirps.

Meanwhile the tenrec, who, until this point had chosen to stay back out of the way if possible, took a step forward, reaching back through hammer space and pulling out a clean handkerchief. Kneeling next to the echidna and bird, he offered it- just in case there was blood. " Getting kicked in the face can really hurt", he muttered just loud enough for the two to hear, attempting to comfort the little sparrow. Somehow there was an... air of knowing to what he just said. He was also quite aware that being kicked in the face hurt wither you were wearing pants or not, so he was just going to... ignore that small fact and focus on the beak comment.

"..." Sally turned away from everyone, a blush of shame showing under her fur. Given the presence of three legion members, her guard had been up and when she'd felt metalic hands grabbing her, her reaction had been reflexive. ...No that it excused things. She glanced sorrowfully at Cassia before she turned and headed for the exit. "Nicole, when they're ready to leave for the citidel, I'll be waiting in the hoverunit."

Zachary glared at the retreating squirrelmunk's backside, but graciously took the offered handkerchief with a nod. "Thank you... Dash, was it?" turning his focus back onto Cassia, he lightly dabbed at her nostrils. " It's okay... just a nosebleed from the looks of it... You'll be fine." Meanwhile, Finitevus was... very, very quiet. One might have wondered if his connection had been cut.

Cassia tries not to sniffle, and to hold still while Zachary dabbed at her beak, chirping again as she glanced up to see who gave her father the handkerchief. Even through the now ebbing pain from the kick, she managed a very small smile. " Thank you, Mr. Dash...."

Although seeing that the scene had calmed down greatly, Chuck made sure this time to keep a scrutinous eye on the bunch. He was dealing with a lot of unknowns here, and the hedgehog had found out first hand that even the smallest bits of chaos could turn things nasty. Still obviously tense, Chuck glanced at Bunnie before giving her his full attention. He had tried the best at the moment to help Lower Mobius, and it was clear from the reaction he had received that the character on the communicator was not about to give him a concise answer any time soon. "I'm... not sure what to do about the disappearances in Knothole, Bunnie. I'm sure that they can handle themselves, and over here we might just have some extra help in getting the upper hand over Robotnik." He said, trying to console the rabbit. In truth, he was extremely worried about the princess and his nephew.

Giving the bird a somewhat larger smile, the tenrec returned to standing and rejoined his group of co-workers, glancing to them both as he took his place besides them. Once there, he gave another, third glance in the direction that the G.U.N. Agent had went. So far it seemed like she'd caused more harm than good, really. But what else could you expect from G.U.N...?

The rabbit chewed her lip as Chuck tried to ease her frayed nerves. Sure, she knew they were perfectly capable of handling themselves (Well, except for maybe Antoine), she had no doubts about that. But they were also talking about an entirely new and foreign world. A place they knew absolutely nothing about! She seemed to wilt as a long exhale escaped her. "It ain't just them that's got me worried though. What about the other villagers? And the kids?" Zachary frowned to himself as he cleaned up the last traces of blood from Cassia's beak. "If this is also happening in Knothole, this... presents a problem," he muttered. "I was hoping that Cassia could stay there while I search for a new power stone." he looked between Chuck and Bunnie. Though the expression was subtle, it was clear he was concerned. "I can't leave her by herself, but taking her with me is out of the question."

Chuck looked at Bunnie, hiding the worry he felt behind his exterior. Gently he cupped the rabbot's organic hand within his own metal ones, looking at her with a poker-face of courage. "We all managed to escape Robotnik's grip one way or another. Those who went to the other world will survive, and we'll find a way to bring them back." Or so he hoped. Aurora-knows what lay beyond those accursed portals. The robo-hog looked to little Cassia with concern, once Zachary voiced his original plan. Chuck looked alternately at the little sparrow and the rabbot. Everyone's loads kept increasing these days. They certainly couldn't just drop Cassia off at Knothole without a guardian, but didn't that alter-Sally Bunnie was with mention the citidel? He couldn't possibly go himself- he had to keep all of his eyes and ears on Robotnik's every move. And she couldn't stay here in the bunker: He would be too busy, and such a desolate place even with someone friendly was no place for a child to linger. As he thought of what he could do for Cassia, he saw out of his peripheral vision a mass of pink waver. "Hey." Amy squeaked, trying to draw the attention of Zach and (she shuddered) Uncle Chuck. Throughout all the talk and drama, Amy had been left speechless, intimidated, and very, very afraid of this hellhole she charged into. A feeling of dread had permeated her being, rendering her normally boisterous attitude inexploitable. She couldn't find Sonic like this, probably wouldn't be able to return Tails' wreck of a plane, rode through Robot Hell, and seeing Uncle Chuck as a freaking robot made her shiver whenever she cast a glance at the robo-hog. The dilemma with little pantless Cassia made Amy's heart ache. "Maybe I could watch over her?" The pink hedgehog offered. It's not like I could do much else right now... Chuck looked at the hedgehog as she spoke up, and before he could respond, had to do a double-take. Odd... she looked like an older version of that little girl who followed the Guardian around. He then decided to leave Zack to answering the request, focusing instead on alieviating Bunnie's stress.

Glancing over to Amy, the tenrec gave an ever so slight smile. Good, at least the kid will be taken care of.For some reason, her well being mattered quite a bit to him.

"DASH, TAKE OFF YOUR APRON AND PUT YOUR MANPANTS ON!!" Without warning, Julie's fist wrapped itself around the tenrec's neck and set about dragging him back in the direction they'd come. "You heard Doc Fini! He wants us to report back ASAP! Honestly, you're more of a girl than I'll EVER be."

Looking between Julie and Dash, Lance shrugged and trailed along after them quietly. Shooting a glance at the group of retreating legionnaires, Zachary rolled his eyes slightly, and for a fleeting moment felt the urge to latch onto one of their arms to prevent them from leaving... preferably the tenrec fellow. He seemed pleasant enough compared to the other two. After all, they knew his counterpart, and he couldn't deny his curiosity. When would he get another opportunity like this? Still, despite what he wanted, and probably would have done if conditions were more favorable, he had bigger concerns. Looking back at the pink hedgehog (who did bare more than a passing resemblance to the guardian's charge...), he frowned slightly. "While I do appreciate the offer, you'll have to excuse me if I'm a little leery of leaving my goddaughter to the care of a stranger."

And Cassia... was still not quite sure how she felt about Amy, so moved slightly behind her father, watching the female hedgehog quietly. Although she was still rubbing at her beak. Very carefully.

"Although, we may not have much choice Zach," Sir Charles said, folding his arms as he thought. "Cassia may very well have to stay in Elem alone." He took a mild glance at those leaving. Hopefully they had smarts enough to not get in anymore trouble.

Looking between the group of unknowns and Dash as well, Midnight also scurries along after the group of legionnaires. A withered sigh escaped the echidna as he realized that, yes, his roboticized friend was probably right. The thought of leaving Cassia alone normally wasn't such a concern for Zachary, but with all of these strange portals and unknown people appearing and disappearing out of thin air... the fear that he could lose her, or that even worse could happen, was all too real. But what more could he do? " Come on, Cassia," the mechanic muttered, helping his goddaughter to his feet. He turned to Chuck afterward. "We should be moving on so we can get these crystals installed... Again, I can't thank you enough for your help," Watching as the echidna turned for the exit, Bunnie turned her focus over to Chuck and bit her lip. "Ah'd be lyin' if Ah said I weren't at a loss fer what to do. The other Tails and that Fini feller are bein' forced to build some kinda gate back to their world, but, they've also got plans to overload and blow the sucker after makin' an escape to the otha side..." She paused, allowing that bit of info to sink in. "Fini explained he can have his research wiped from the system, but ya'll'n I both know that's only gonna slow Robotnik down."

Uncle Chuck nodded to Zach - anything to help a friend out. "Take care, Zach." Turning to Bunnie as she started to speak, Chuck held a similar feeling of helplessness. Although, he was intrigued by the sabotage plan the other robians had in mind. But as Bunnie said, something so base would merely just slow Robotnik's pace. "Sure enough," Charles mused, his mind wandering back to what they could do. "Somehow, we need to get communication about all this established, not just between the Freedom Fighter groups here, but in that other world as well. Even if these portals have teleported people across the worlds, the more people who know what's going on would give us that much more of an edge against Robotnik, and hopefully buy us some more time. I don't think even Robotnik could stand up against an entire planet alerted to and prepared for his assault."

"... It's worth a shot." Chuck responded, meandering around some of the equipment in the bunker. Suddenly he started, and looked at Bunnie. "And maybe, if this all pans out in our favor, we can try and find the whereabouts of our Sally and the others," he added, a small collection of communicators beginning to gather on one end of a metal table.

Uncle Chuck nodded. "As well as for the few of us who'll still be back here," he said, putting one of said communicators on, and putting the majority of the others in a spare pack he had. "But first thing's first. If you want to go through with this, we'll have to get back in contact with the alternate Zack and Tails, and of course Sally as well. Offer them some of the communicators." Chuck explained, zipping up the pack once he was sure everything was in order.

The rabbit nodded, accepting the bag when it was offered. "Already part of the plan, hon," she said, slinging it over her shoulders. "Me'n that Sally there supposed to be lookin' fer that rowdy group in here just now. Now that we's found them we can head back to Zack'n Tails." Before turning to leave she wrapped her arms around the elder robian, "Ya'll take care of yerself, Uncle Chuck," she said. And she was off.

"And good luck to yourself!" The elderly hedgehog called to Bunnie after being embraced, and waved goodbye. His smile faded as quickly as the rabbot did. Turning around, Sir Charles set to work on monitoring Robotnik.
