Rob did not feel well. With one hand pressed to his gurgling stomach, and the other held out to steady himself against the nearest wall, he slowly moved along the boardwalk toward Rouge's lodge. Putting that cheese on his sandwich for lunch had been a mistake. He knew it had been, being lactose intolerant as he was, but he had willingly done so anyway. And now he was paying for it. And why had he chosen to torture himself this way? Because it just tasted sooo good! That, and after the long and stressful few days he had had, damn it, he deserved a treat! First that human showing up, then that fight with Espio, then Rouge falling ill, the princess' arrival, the mission to save the water supply... on and on the list went, and the sense of exhaustion was still buried deep in his muscles. Things were now slowly moving back to the upside though, and he deserved to have cheese!Meandering down the path, all he could do was hope he could make it to the chair sitting in Rouge's lodge in time, to give his tummy time to rest and settle, before anyone got in his way...

Meanwhile, down on the ground below, almost directly below in fact, another group was approaching one of the ground entrances to the village. Manic paused to adjust his arms again, keeping his hold on Tikal's legs as the Echidna girl rode on his back, sound asleep from the final leg of the trip. It'd taken longer than he'd expected, mostly cause they had to practically carry Crash most of the way too. "Hey," he said, giving her a small shake. "Wakey wakey. We're here."

Despite the jostling, Tikal failed to regain consciousness. In fact, she hadn't made a peep since Manic had offered to carry her so she could rest. Her arms remained loosely draped around his shoulders, her only response the whispy draw and release of breath.

Walking just behind the hedgehog and his granddaughter was Athair, who was sending alternating glances between the sleeping female, and the near-comatose wolverine being carried by the largest member of their group.

"Teeks..." he said, jostling her a bit harder this time. "Time to wake up now."

Said largest member of the group seemed also to be the least pleased, the wolverine tucked beneath his arm as he trudged along. At the hedgehog's comment of 'we're here', he stopped, raising a brow as he skeptically surveyed the location. He didn't see any villages here. "Are you joking?"

The gooey partially liquefied chunks that suddenly splattered all over Pachacamac's head from above indicated... well, something. Maybe it really was a joke after all.
A divine joke.

Unfortunately, Pachacamac was not the ONLY victim of "divine judgement". After all, that sort of... event has some collateral damage. But he was the only one conscious. So... he might as well have been the only one. And Athair, at the rather... unique sound behind him, stopped, and turned. And stared. And while he was rather concerned at what could have resulted in that... mess from above. He also was fighting a VERY juvenile urge to laugh. But he was very good at hiding it.

The echidna stood still as his the gears in his mind contemplated the sudden warm and unpleasantly wet sensation on the top of his head, and soon after, the horrific smell as well. Slowly he reached upward, wiping his hand across his head, causing some of the goo to splatter off onto his free shoulder. Pulling his hand away, he stared, his expression morphing to be just as sour as the pungent stink of the goop. "... GAUGH!" And then he dropped Crash and frantically tried to wipe said substance from his head.

Unfortunatly, Manic didn't even have a hand free to attempt to conceal his own mirth. He burst out laughing, doubling over and barely keeping his balance while still carrying Tikal, though at least the sudden shaking she got would be more than likely to finally wake her up.

The noise and movement did manage to rouse her attention, but just barely; Tikal's eyes blinked sluggishly, barely making it to half-mast before closing again. " Mmn..."

High above the group, a pair of teal ears twitched in unison. Between the yelling and laughter Rob's eyes grew considerably wide from where he leaned on the railing. Staggering away, a look of horror washed over his face as he realized what he had just done. "Oh bollocks," he uttered, racing toward the nearby elevator.

Athair remained quiet, although he moved to Crash's side, looking him over to make sure the fall hadn't injured him, adding to the wolverine's troubles. Fortunately, though, Crash seems alright.

Pachacamac, on the other hand, was purely concerned with the state of the cleanliness of the top of his head. It seems that attempting to wipe it off wasn't working too well, as ... well, his head was covered in fur, after all. " AAAUGH! AAAUGH! GAAAUUUUUGH!"

Paccy's actions weren't helping Manic any, as he finally lost his balance, sending himpitching forward, and tumbling both himself and Tikal to the ground.

The fall did manage to rouse more of the lethargic echidna's attention, but not by much. Tikal's vaguely glazed eyes glanced around in an apparent stupor. What was going on? Why was she on the ground? She remembered Manic offering to carry her.... ... ... and that was it. Tikal whimpered softly and attempted to sit up, but could only raise her head by an inch. " Nngh..."

The elevator leading up to Meadowood hastily slid down a few yards away from the group. Leaping off before it had barely hit the ground, Rob ran toward the group. "I'm so dreadfully sorry!" the archer exclaimed as he approached.

" Don't be too upset. He deserved it a little." The elder mumbled, before he stood, moving forward to greet Rob, glancing at Pachacamac. "Are you the leader here?"

Slowing down as the elder addressed him, Rob's eyes flickered back and forth between Athair and Pachacamac several times, briefly trying to decide which was the more important concern. Deciding to side with the question posed directly at him, he made a sheepish face and awkwardly shied himself away from the larger of the echidnas. "Uh, aye," the archer answered, coughing into his fist in an effort to shake off his embarrassment. "My name is Rob. Are--is there-- I mean, how do you--" he paused, mentally trying to sift out which question was the most pertinent. Briefly his eyes meant to flash over the cackling mess of green fur and quills to the side, but instead they came to a halt and grew wide. "--Wait. Manic?!"

"Hey Rob!" Manic said, still mostly in the throes of laughter as he moved over to Tikal to help her up. "I kinda, like, brought some guests. They need a place to crash." He broke into more laughter as he added, "...And shower."

Help was most certainly needed, as at that moment, Tikal had found herself quite helpless. Her body was nearly limp in his arms, as she could only coax her muscles to move the slightest degrees before they gave out. " Manic... I can't......"

Athair was about to respond to Rob, to perhaps introduce them... when he glances towards Tikal, hearing her, Even with Paccy wailing obscenities in the background and his eyes widened slightly, as he glanced back down at the comatose wolverine at his feet. That decided his next comment. "We need to get where we can lay Tikal and Crash down."

Staring at the other hedgehog for a long moment, Rob repressed the number of things he wanted to say. Instead, his focus turned onto Tikal, and upon Athair's comment, Crash as well. His brow raised in alarm. "Manic, help me get them to Cyril right now," the archer insisted, kneeling to lift the wolverine. "They've been poisoned!"

At this point Pachacamac was snapped out of his fit by one key word. Not to say that the vomit on his scalp now wasn't bothering him, but at the moment this question seemed more dire. " POISONED? By what? By WHO?"

The elder turned his attention back to Rob, who seemed to know better what was going on than they did. He'd already suspected poisoning but this hedgehog may know -who- was responsible. Which meant he remained quiet, as Pachacamac had already asked what he wanted to know... except for one thing, as he hurried to Tikal's side. "Granddaughter, you have to stay awake, alright?"

This drained all the mirth out of Manic quite quickly. "Yeah, stay with us here Teeks," he said, trying and failing to get the sudden worry out of his tone as he scooped her up into his arms. "Rob man, like, what's going on?"

"Itzal's poisoned the river," Rob explained as he secured Crash in his arms. He glanced at Manic. "It's why we've been noticing the plants withering - several of the villagers are down now too. We managed to take out the factory producing it last night, but it'll still be a few days before the water becomes safe again."

Giving a surprisingly worried glance to Tikal, Pachacamac turned to scowl at the cyan hedgehog. "Itzal? Who is Itzal? What do we do about the poison??"

Slumped in Manic's arms, Tikal's eyes blinked lethargically. Each lid felt like it weighed as much as a terrapod, and the priestess had great difficulty in willing them to stay even partially open. " I.... ..... tired..."
