Turns out, God knows where was rather unpleasant. Resson's nose scrunched up. This place smelt bad. It looked bad. The sky was thick with smoke, there were dilapidated buildings littering the desolate landscape. It was as if the land was diseased, for he couldn't see a living thing for miles. The only sign of life was a few explosions going off in the distance. The place was different from home. Very, very different. "Everyone stay close. Let's try and get a lock on our location." He pulls a device from his pocket and tries to check his GPS location... ..nothing. "...Now that's odd."

Not very far away from where the canine (and co) appeared from the portal, a small machine floated. It was similar in design to Bogert's observation droids, but with obvious differences, such as that it's lense was fixed in one direction and that it was slightly armored. It hovered in place, silently observing the newcomers. The lense flickered as it altered it's focus, sending a live video feed back to it's master and a silent alarm to any available SWATbots in the area. Whoever these people were, they were likely to be apprehended very soon.

Had Resson been listening closely enough, he might have heard the ever-so-faint voice of his beseiged son cursing the air blue at a tremendous volume many blocks away -- before it abruptly cut off.

With most of the SWATbot patrols dealing with an...incident closer to the main HQ, a backup force had been routed to intercept Resson and company until the actual security forces could arrive. From out of the shadows came and electronic growl, the source of which shuffled into view, revealing a robian squirrel. "Rrr...Freedom Fighters priority one! Capture by order of Robotnik!"

Accompanying the squirrel was a pint-sized robian bunny. Her eyes glowed with sickeningly adorable menace as her face contorted into a snarl. "Freedom Fighters, priority one!" she echoed the other robot, her monotone voice sounding like that of a young child's.

And then things got worse. "FREEDOM FIGHTERS, PRIORITY ONE! CAPTURE BY ORDER OF LORD ROBOTNIK!" A SWATbot squadron loomed out of the shadows of the alley behind the two robians, having been abruptly dismissed from their distracting duties elsewhere by a certain blue metal hedgehog. Their orders were clear, this time -- Robotnik had given them specific instructions on how to deal with the latest threat. Raising their blasters, they pointed them at the trio and fired streams of green sticky Mega Muck at them. SUDDENLY ROBOTS, HUNDREDS OF THEM. [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] As luck would have it, only a couple streams of goo hit his machine - with any luck, it should still be able to transform. (1 for success, 2 for failure) [dice=2] Resson raises his arm in a commanding gesture. "Tiger Force!" The peices of the platform glow bright white and scatter, sending bits of goo flying; they orbit around Resson rapidly before rearranging below him in the shape of a giant golden mechanical tiger. It lets out a steely roar and pounces on the nearest group of robots, firing an armor piercing laser from its tail at the assailants from behind. [dice=6] [dice=6] While doing this, he grits his teeth and transmits a burst transmission to the robots. "We are not hostile units! Disengage! Disengage!" He wasn't sure that was going to do any good, but it was worth a shot.[rand=277641704827047641809006340564898288528308237520489432693617299465]

"Meany men stay away from Daddy!" Dart demanded loudly, zipping toward a small group of nearby Swatbots. The small caninebot's optics quickly went to work in taking a quick scan of the swatbot's structure, if only to identify some basic weaknesses in their construction. Then, with the small bit of information he'd gathered, Dart took off in a blur of white and purple; undoing whatever weak screws, nuts, or bolts he'd identified in the scan on the swatbots facing him. With a small cloud of dust the tiny android was suddenly back in the place he started, his hands still in wrench mode. However when he turned his attentionon the SWATbots, Cyro turned it away from the two robians. [dice=6] [dice=6] The SWATs scattered as soon as they saw Resson's machine transform; as a consequence, neither of his attacks met its target. [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] Dart would find, unfortunately, that the SWATs were more well-built than he'd given them credit for. Only one of them had parts loose enough to be stolen: it crumpled to the pavement in pieces. [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] Cyro met with about the same luck as his other two family members. With the SWATs all taking evasive action, he was only able to reduce two of them to shredded metal on the ground. It didn't matter, however -- more SWATbots from all over the city were converging upon them at that moment. For every SWATbot that was destroyed, two would replace it. The lead SWAT of the first squadron called to the scene straightened up in its hiding place in a nearby alley as it recieved the burst signal. Despite heavy distortion and static, it was still understandable. It dispatched a new message to Robotnik's computer as the fight carried on around it: 'THE INTRUDERS ARE ATTEMPTING RADIO CONTACT. PATCH THROUGH Y/N?'[rand=76492406143048999294124292944611135502040482363471628087054147841]

The SWATbots transmission reached Robotnik's main control room, where the fat dictator was still taking care of things. Robotnik interlocked his fingers, pondering. They were trying to contact him? May as well let them. An explanation of what this was all about would be quite nice, wither he got the information before or after their capture. "Yes..." He paused, finger hovering over the 'Y' key, but pausing for a moment and turning in his seat to shout behind him. "SNIVALY. Find out where unit Metal Sonic has gone with the prisoner. I have other things I must attend to... now then...", that out of the way, he pressed the button, opening a communication line between himself and the newcomers. - An intercom of one of the SWATbots flicked on, Robotnik's voice sounding from it. " Salutations," a pleasant greeting, though the voice quickly turned into a dark growl. "Who are you, and why are you here?"

Resson broadcast directly to the robot opening the communication line. "I followed the kidnapper of one of my associates through a portal and wound up in this location; I assure you I have no idea where I am or why I am being attacked, and I implore you to call off your soldiers so we can clear this whole mess up without further property damage."

For a bit there was radio silence. Then the voice spoke up again.
"A portal? Explain."
The SWATbots stayed in formation, but did not move in to attack. Robotnik found what Resson had said interesting enough not to apprehend the invaders just yet, but he didn't trust them either.

"This morning I found a dragon in my kitchen. I told it to leave, and it did, but with one of my partners in tow. It kept claiming that I had kidnapped her as a representative of Dr. Robotnik, when they had in fact never met, and furthermore I have never spoken with Dr. Robotnik, much less worked for him. Might I ask where I am?"

Some more radio silence. "You happen to be speaking to Dr. Robotnik... and you're currently in the capital of my empire, Robotropolis."

Resson blinked. He didn't see that one coming. "Capital? Robotropolis? To my knowledge you're confined to a secret base and don't have much of an empire established at all." Resson began to think for a moment. He had never heard of a place called Robotropolis. Eggman hadn't established an empire of any sort, let alone a capital. "Am I speaking to Dr. Ivo Robotnik?"

"No offense intended. It would appear that you are not the Dr. Robotnik I have heard of. Whether this is some alternate world or simply a strange coincidence in names is unknown. Regardless, I mean you no harm and will gladly evacuate the premises of your city so long as you stop attacking me. It is presumed you do not take kindly to visitors." Resson eyed the idle army of robots as he said this. More than a tad overkill if you ask me.

"Let you leave? Please, by all means, stay awhile." This, however, was obviously not a request despite it's wording, for as soon as it was said the SWATbots once again began to move in, intent on apprehending the intruders.

"R-right away, sir!" and Snively went to work. "I have sent a troop of SWATbots to investigate, sir." Cyro, undaunted, kept attacking. [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] Cyro had been lucky enough to start his attack before the SWATbots could raise their blasters to begtin their own assault; several of them were taken down in a matter of seconds, their heads and limbs clattering to the ground separate from their bodies. But once again, more of the expendable soldiers filled the space that was left behind. Robotpropolis seemed to have an inexhaustible supply of them, and it was soon apparent that this would be a war of attrition. A circle of SWATbots entrapped the trio as a wide swath of hoverbots covered the skies above them. All simultaneously aimed their guns at the same targets. All simultaneously fired. And all spewed forth more Mega Muck. [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6] Dart quickly fell back as the small robotic rabbit gave him a swift kick in the shin, sending him tumbling away from the chaos ensuing in the middle of the street. [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] One stream of the goo hit the side of his mech, but Resson managed to avoid the rest. He sends out another burst transmission - encrypted, so only R-Series would hear it. "We can't stay around. We've got to get out of here. Everyone follow me; grab onto the Seven Force if you can!" The giant mechanical tiger makes an about-face, scooping up Dart in its jaws (gently of course). Resson then guides it in the path of the muck heading for Cyro... [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] And gets hit with another blast to the side of the mech, beginning to hinder its movement; another stream nearly clocks Resson across the head. ((Gonna switch to using one die only from now on to cut down on the ridiculous overusage of rolls in this thread.)) The SWATbots refused to let Resson have a moment of peace in which he could transform. They continued their assault as if he had not interfered, this time aiming all their Mega Muck at Seven Force. However, Resson managed to maneuver out of the way of most of the goo, suffering very few its in the process; after he hoists Cyro up onto the platform with him (with some difficulty), he immediately raises his arm. "Seven Force!"
He suddenly lowers his arm in a commanding gesture. "Transform!"
[dice=7]
"Soldier Force!"
The pieces of the mech glow right and disassemble, orbiting rapidly around Resson and his children for a second or two (flinging gunk everywhere) before reassembling into a large humanoid mech, green in color. Resson peers outside from a window in the chest, with Cyro and Dart crowded next to him as passengers.
[dice=6] (For stray muck hitting enemies.)
Resson then immediately begins to try and clear a path through the robots, firing a few plasma shots here and there from the mech's eyes as it tromps off toward what he hoped was farther away from the center of the city.[rand=50045870961932047974170556346196209751794387914476757636461568968]
