@barby@ This trip better not take too long. The koala stood at the semi-dark area, waiting for the old echidna to lead the way.
@serotor@ But Rotor just remembered that they have a damaged plane in the darkness...a plane that wasn't theirs, and the original owner would be incredibly pissed if he found it missing from his workshop. "Uh...sir? What about the plane?"

The pangolin over Lance's shoulder groaned and rubbed her forehead. " Y'ain't gotta carry me," Julie groaned, beginning to squirm. " I'm just woozy."

"What, precisely, do you expect me to do in the dark?" Zachary rolled his eyes. "I need to find a new power source for this village before I start examining wrecks," Lance meanwhile frowned at the struggling pangolin, ignoring her request and continuing to carry her. Instead he kept his focus on Dash, jabbing him in the shoulder. "Hey, are you listening?"

Jumping slightly at the jab and turning sharply, Dash glared at the wolf. "What?"

Just then, the Legion members would be able to hear the sounds of footsteps behind them. "Excuse me," Silver said as he approached, "But you are members of the Dark Legion, are you not?"

@serotor@ Something told him they weren't going to come back to get the plane. He only preyed that they don't run into Tails...for the rest of their lives. He also wished that a Chaos Emerald would just drop on his lap for this old man.

As her disorientation receded, the pangolin's physical arguing became stronger. "C'mon, let me down!" Julie grunted.

Making a face at the struggling girl, Lance simply dropped her onto the ground, then turned an insulted glare at the robot following them. "... No, we're not. We're just cyborgs." Finally stepping out the window, he glanced around. There, ahead in the darkness he could see the group that had left earlier simply standing there with his mechanical eye's night vision. He glanced between the group and his hut several times, debating with himself... Then he sighed. "Hey, Dash!" he called out, waving an arm. "Your leg armor is still on my table!" One of the wolf's ear's twisted in response to Zack's call. Tearing his wary eyes away from Silver he gave Dash another nudge when he realized he wasn't answering. "Yo. The old guy's calling you."

Amy groaned, finally coherent enough to pull herself together. Carefully, she stood up, though her legs wobbled as she tried to find her balance. At least she was calm again.

The tenrec pointed at his ears, giving the wolf an irritated expression. "I can't hear again. Midi knocked them back out."

Silver ingnored the rest of the conversation going on around him, and kept to the part that involved him. "Unlikely." He pointed at Lance. "You were part of a list of probable members i the GUN database when I was able to access it."

Having risen back to her feet, Julie rubbed sorely at her bum and eyed the robot with disenchanted scrutiny. He seemed to be getting a little too intimate with their personal information. Her tail swinging from side to side, ready to bamf in a heartbeat, the pangolin frowned in Silver's direction. " 'Probable' ain't definite, rust bucket. Leave us alone."

Frowning at the tenrec's response, he glanced between him and the old guy a couple of times. With a sigh he snatched Dash by the wrist he'd been using to point and took to dragging him back. "Yeah," Lance agreed in agreement with Julie. "I don't have anything to do with the Dark Legion, so shove off."

Dash frowned, but followed the wolf. Seems they were heading back. Maybe they hadn't made the old guy angry enough yet. Mumble.

After still grumbling for a bit about her ears, Amy's attention circled back towards what was happening. Aside from noticing that the bad crowd had gone, not much else had occurred. Even that pango-er-echidna seemed slightly less of a grouch than before that concussive blast of whatever. Amy considered her situation for what felt like the thousandth time. She needed, needed to find Sonic, not only for his comfort (despite his almost unheard pleas otherwise), but for her own sake. Things were so different here, her head felt like it was just going to burst and kill everyone in a nuclear explosion. She needed something familiar to latch on to and vent. A quick glance over, and Amy grimaced, slowly closing her eyes. And yes. Naked girls was something she wasn't going to get used to very soon. After her earlier outburst though, she came to the conclusion that she'll just have to deal with it until they managed to get away from this place. Amy hoped that happened soon.

@barby@ As well as Barby wanted far from this place. The sooner they can get to the surface, maybe to civilization, the sooner she can ditch this old man.
@serotor@ Rotor on the other hand is almost more concerned for the plane. It was not his plane to begin with, and he still let Barby make him steal it. That plane was obviously Tails' pride and joy, and if the fox found out who stole it ... heaven have mercy on his soul. The only way they can get the plane back is if they can find a power source for this place. Rotor wished he had one right now.

Silver was having trouble computing why they were being so difficult about this. "Very well, then if you are not Dark Legion members, I will have to find someone who is to recieve the communication."

One of the wolf's ears flicked in response to Silver's comment. "Yeah, guess so," he shrugged without bothering to turn around. They'd already had contact with Finitevus, after all, and he hadn't said anything about any weird metallixes. And as soon as the two were close enough again Zachary snatched Dash by the opposite arm and practically dragged him inside, back toward the work bench. "Come on, come on. I haven't got all day to mess around with you..."

"Huh? What? I can't hear, my ears got blown out again!" Which was really, REALLY annoying. How many times was this going to happen?? And in the span of ONE DAY, too!8

Julie's expression remained in a stubborn scowl. Honestly, if this robot didn't keep its nosecone out of their affairs, she was going to do some SERIOULS bamfing. But for now, she just followed after Lance and Dash.

"Very well." The robot's head twitched as he reactivated his comm. "Agent Acorn, I'm afraid your request for contact has been denied," ...Nothing. "Error. Loss of signal..."

Amy opened her eyes again as she heard voices and movement, and she frowned. WHY WERE THOSE JERKS COMING BACK!? Frustrated, Amy took to fiddling with her hair, trying to keep herself from making another outburst as well as to pass the time. Honestly, if SHE had been flying that plane, they wouldn't have been in this mess (most likely, she hoped).

Pausing long enough to stare at Dash, Zachary's nose wrinkled as he wandered off to snatch a jar of fuses from his work table. In doing so he noticed Julie had invited herself back inside, and with this realization came a sneer that spread itself across his muzzle. Upon retrieving the two fuses he needed the echidna slammed the jar back down on the table and barked, "You, girl! No one invited you back in here! Get out!" Grumbling to himself he also snatched a set of screwdrivers and yanked Dash forward to get at his ears.

Surprised by the sudden tug, the tenrec went wide eyed and flailed a bit. "Hey! Hey! Careful!"

Zachary's eyes narrowed at the insolent little brat, but snorted, and put his focus back on the tenrec. As much as it grated his nerves, he did have more pressing concerns he had to move on to solving, so... as long as she kept quiet and stayed out of the way... Ignoring Dash's protests he went about fixing his ears for the second time that day. Once the second fuse was securely snapped in and the plate was screwed on, he motioned for the table. "Get on. I sure as heck don't need your leg's armor hanging around my shop."

Giving his ears a wiggle, Dash's frown... well, it remained, actually, but at least he gave Zachary a nod. "Thanks..." Gaze wandering down to his leg he realized that he was, in fact, missing a bit of his leg. Whoops. "Er... right." Onto the table, then.

Returning to his examination of the legionnaire's leg, the echidna lifted it, bending and flexing it while staring intently at its gears and circuits. "Hmm, seems the inner mechanics are all in order... probably just the outer armor being bent out of shape." Lowering the appendage, he snatched a piece of the tenrec's armor and began looking it over, comparing it to the shape of his leg. Setting it down on the bench he began to manhandle it with the use of his mechanical arm. "Say kid," he said as he worked on warping it back into shape. "Are these your original legs? I mean the mechanics are familiar, but you've had some pretty extensive modifications from the look of it... For that matter, just how fast are you able to run?"
|

Post by DB on Apr 22, 2009 14:34:06 GMT -5
"Well... uh... no," the tenrec began, nose wrinkling slightly, "... these are just prosthetics." However, the latter part of the echidna's questioning struck him as ... odd. Why would someone ask something like that? "... I run fast enough to get me where I'm going." ... at break neck speeds.

"Prosthetics, huh?" Zachary asked, seeming to become more interested by this. "That technology's been dead around here for years. Kind of went out with Robotnik's war. Always did fascinate me though, might have even gotten into it if I had more of an interest in medicine." Feeling satisfied with the current piece of metal's shape, the mechanic began working on screwing it back to Dash's leg. Not before gesturing into the air with his mechanical arm, however. "I guess technically you could call this thing a prosthetic too even though it wasn't surgically attached. I mostly made it so I could make modifications without messing up the original since I figure, well, if I'm stuck with the thing anyway I may as well make it useful. My real arm's upstairs." Lance's head jerked back, his face blossoming with a look of confusion and repulsion. Did he... was he... what?!
